Police activity week of 10-15-12 through 10-21-12

10-15-12 07:13 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Criminal mischief
100 block Austin Ave. – the victim advised that when she came out of her home at approximately 07:00 hours , she discovered the front driver side tire of her vehicle completely deflated. The auto shop observed a one inch puncture hole in the tire. At approximately 11:40 hours this officer made contact with the victim again. She advised after she got the tire fixed she came home parked the car and approximately one hour later she discovered the driver side rear tire was deflated. This tire also had a puncture. No suspect in this incident.


10-15-12 18:05 hours – Sgt. B. Eidell – Theft- $200 & over- bicycles
Unit block E. Albemarle Ave. – Two young men discovered that both their bikes had been stolen from the rear of one of the young victim’s yard. Checked area for but was unable to locate the bikes or the actors.


10-15-12 17:48 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Theft- $200 & over- from buildings
100 block N. Union Ave. – The victim discovered his 7mm bolt action rifle, unknown make or model, missing from his living from and a box of assorted DVS’s were also missing.


10-15-12 20:16 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle – Burglary-no force-residence-day
Unit block W. Stratford Ave. – Victim’s state items missing from their home include change and a check. No forced entry observed. Investigation to continue.


10-19-12 00:03 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Drive under influence
N. Lansdowne & Stewart Aves. – Responded to a report of a hit and run accident that just occurred and the victim followed the striking vehicle where it pulled over. This officer approached the vehicle and observed the offender to have very glassy eyes, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and person and a bloody lip. The offender had very heavily slurred speech. The offender admits that he was drinking, that he was wrong, that he was going to fail the field test and that he did not wish to take the test. Offender placed in custody and will be charged appropriately.


10-19-12 15:19 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Burglary – forced entry – residence – day
Unit block Legion Ter. – Police dispatched for a burglary interrupted. On arrival contact was made with the victim, he stated he was home on the second floor when he heard a noise. He thought it was one of his cats but then heard a male voice yelling “yo”. The victim went to check the first floor and heard the male running through the rear door. Entry gained through unlocked rear storm door. Nothing is missing from the house.


10-20-12 17:34 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Disorderly conduct
200 block Berkley Ave. – Responded to a report of an assault that had occurred. On arrival spoke with the mother of the two girls involved. It seems they were with a neighbor girl whose father grabbed the arm of one of the two girls instead of his daughters arm. Spoke to the father who stated he mistakenly grabbed the arm of the neighbor girl. The father was intoxicated at the time and was issued a citation for disorderly conduct which met with the approval of the two girls’ mother.
