Police activity week of 12-24-12 through 12-30-12
12-24-12 01:32 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Criminal mischief to public buildings
Unit block S. Lansdowne Ave. – Dispatched regarding a break-in at the Lansdowne Train Station. The door to the station appeared to have been forced. Nothing known missing from the station at this time.
This incident will be carried as a criminal mischief pending review.
12-26-12 09:25 hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – Worthless checks
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – Dispatched to see the woman at the PNC Bank for a black female attempting to cash a fraudulent check. Once out the bank manager identified the two suspects. The female suspect stated the check for $4,500.00 was sent to her as a Christmas present. Further investigation will determine if the suspects will be charged.
12-27-12 11:20 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Theft- $200 & over
Unit block E. LaCrosse Ave. – While serving a warrant at the residence police observed hazardous code violations. Due to the condition of the residence borough Code officers and the Lansdowne Fire Marshall were called to respond to the building. It was discovered that the gas meter, water meter and electric meter were bypassed for the building and were essentially receiving these utilities for free. PECO & Aqua were also notified. This officer will file charges against the property owner and possibly his “power of attorney”, who seems to be the person who is really controlling what goes on with the property.
12-27-12 22:16 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Public Drunkenness
200 block Drexel Ave. – Dispatched for a report of a suspicious male, possibly drunk, in the caller’s driveway. Eventually located the offender who was taken into custody. The offender was extremely intoxicated and very combative. Due to the offender’s extreme aggressiveness and safety of officers involved the offender was tased. The offender will be housed in a cell until he sobers up enough to release. The offender will be cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
12-29-12 14:18 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle – Burglary-forced entry-residence-day
Unit block S. Lansdowne Ave. – The victim stated that sometime within the past hour, unknown actors forced entry into their apartment a stole a large amount of items from the residence. Several electronics were stolen along with a book of checks. The victims will make a list of all missing property.
12-29-12 21:36 hours – The victim tracked down some of the missing items to residence’s of family members. This investigation will continue.
12-20-12 21:13 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Driving under the influence
Burmont Rd & Baltimore Ave. – Offender was taken into custody on a traffic stop. The offender had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. The offender failed to PBT. The offender will be charges appropriately.
