Police activity week of 12-19-11 through 12-25-11

12-20-11 13:37 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Counterfeiting-using
N. Wycombe – this officer stopped a vehicle for failure to come to complete stop for a clearly posted stop sign. The driver/offender provided a photo ID, the vehicle registration and an insurance card. Upon further investigation it was determined that the insurance card was a counterfeit. The offender will be charged appropriately.


12-21-11 11:55 hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – theft- $200 & over from buildings
100 block Green Ave. (PWHS) – Dispatched for theft discovered inside of PWHS. A brand new Dell laptop computer was missing from a locked room in the school. Found the lock to the door was malfunctioning. Review of the security tapes could not identify a suspect.


12-21-11 14:26 hours – Ptl. C. Craig – Burglary-attempt-residence-unknown time
Unit block W. Greenwood Ave. – The victim reports a burglary attempt discovered. The victim states approximately two weeks ago she noticed her rear yard light sensor was not working, when looking at the light she realized the bulb was unscrewed. She also noticed a rear window air conditioner unit had been tampered with. No entry was gained and nothing missing at this time.


12-22-11 10:52 hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – Theft- $200 & over from buildings
100 block Green Ave. (PWHS) – On arrival a teacher reported that on 12-21-11 she put her purse containing her Apple I phone 4 into the closet inside her classroom in the morning. When she was ready leave she noticed her phone missing.


12-22-11 16:05 hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – Theft- $200 & over bicycles
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – The victim came to police headquarters to report his performance mountain bike was taken from the rear alley behind the stores on North Lansdowne Avenue. No suspects in this case.


12-24-11 14:50 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Theft $50 to $200 all other
Unit block W. Baltimore Ave. – Offender taken into custody for retail theft from Bottom Dollar. The offender left the store with a shopping cart full of food. Value of items $149.54. The offender was intoxicated. The offender was processed and housed pending arraignment. The offender does have a warrant out for violation of his probation/parole.
