Police activity week of 12-12-11 through 12-18-11
12-12-11 20:41 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Disorderly conduct
100 block Green Ave. (PWHS) – Police dispatched to PWHS for several reports of a large group fighting, possibly with sticks. On arrival observed a large group fighting in the street. The group dispersed upon police arrival. This officer observed the offender push a male into the wall and strike him several times in the head. The offender was taken into custody, returned to headquarters and cited for disorderly conduct. The offender stated that he had been struck by the at least two males including the male he was observed fighting with.
12-13-11 17L45 hours – Sgt. B. Eidell – Burglary- no force – nonresidence- night
100 block Ardmore Ave. – Police received a call for theft of metal form the locked and fenced in area of Ardmore Avenue School. The witness stated that she heard the sound of metal clanking in area of the school and saw a male throwing cooper into a vehicle. She approached a male who stated he was picking up materials for the construction company. The witness stated she was calling 911 and the actor entered a Ford Taurus and left the area. It should be noted that the area where this material is being stored is very dark and a prime target for thieves.
12-14-11 02:51 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Driving under the influence
200 block W. Baltimore Ave. – Police received a report of a hit and run accident. The vehicle left the scene. Several police department searched for the offender. The offender was located at a residence in Clifton Heights taken into custody and returned to police headquarters. The offender will be charged appropriately.
12-14-11 05:54 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Theft- $200 & over- auto accessories
Unit block S. Lansdowne Ave. – On arrival the victim reports that the left driver side window had been smashed in his vehicle, the steering wheel was damaged and the airbag was taken from the vehicle.
12-14-11 19:30 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Theft $200 & over- auto accessories
100 block E. Essex Ave. – The victim came to police headquarters to report a theft from his vehicle. The vehicle was parked in front of the victims residence, he is unsure if had left the vehicle doors unlocked. In the morning he discovered a gray/black Tom Tom and several boxes of candy missing from the vehicle. No forced entry of the vehicle.
12-15-11 20:56 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Narcotics-possession-marijuana
200 block Wabash Ave. – Police were responding to a report of two subjects fighting in the back alley, with one subject having a gun. Officer McGowan encountered a group in the rear alley and two subjects took off running. One subject was apprehended. Suspected marijuana was found to belong to the offender. The offender was returned to police headquarters processed and released to his mother.
12-17-11 23:26 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle – Disorderly conduct
Unit block W. Marshall Rd. – Offender was taken into custody after she refused to leave the area after being located yelling and creating a disturbance. The offender was cited for disorderly conduct and released to her boyfriend.
12-18-11 02:53 hours – Ptl. Brown – Disorderly conduct
200 block W. Marshall Rd. – Police from Lansdowne, East Lansdowne, Clifton Heights, Yeadon and Upper Darby responded to a burglary in progress. The complainant stated she observed several subjects with flashlights enter a vacant house. Several offenders were located in the residence. One of the offenders stated his sister, former tenant of property, told him he could hang out at the residence. All subjects returned to police headquarters and will be charged with disorderly conduct. Several of the offenders appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
