Police activity week of 10-01-12 through 10-07-12

09-30-12 23:45 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Narcotics-possession
E. Plumstead & Wayne Aves. – Offender’s were stopped as their description met that of actors involved in a robbery. Both offenders were searched and drugs were located on both. Both were taken into custody.

10-02-12 16:40 hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza – Theft- under $50 from buildings
Unit block Nyack Ave. – Victim reports an item he had mail ordered never arrived at his residence. The value of the item was $42.95. At this time no suspects or witnesses to this theft.

10-02-12 23:14 hours – Sgt. B. Eidell – Burglary-attempt-residence-unknown time
100 block Fairview Ave. – The victim had evicted his former tenant on 10-01-12. When he came back to the house on 10-02-12 he discovered that someone had tried to break into the property via a rear door. It does not appear that the actor/s gained entrance into to property. The victim is not sure that it was his former tenant that tried to get into the house. This property is up for sale and this may have been someone trying to get inside to steal the copper pipe in the basement.

10-02-12 20:09 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Burglary-no force-nonresidence- day
Unit block S. Maple Ave. – Police dispatched for burglary discovered. The victim discovered some of her electronics damaged with water. She believes the damage was done by her son. He was kicked out of the residence yesterday and still has a key.

10-03-12 09:41 hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – Burglary-no force-residence-unknown time
Unit block W. Plumstead Ave. – The victim stated that his home was burglarized at some point between 1400 hours on 10-2-12 and 0925 hours today. There were no signs of forced entry, but the victim is unsure if he locked the rear door. The victim states there are several of pairs of shoes and a watch missing from the spare bedroom. Ex-wife and daughter have keys to the residence. Advised the victim to have his locks changed.

10-03-12 12:01 hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – burglary-no force-residence-unknown time
Unit block Windermere Ave. – Victim reports most of her jewelry missing. Landlord indicated that several people have been in and out of the apartment for clean up and repairs to the ceiling of the apartment. The landlord will provide a list of employees who had access to the apartment.

10-04-12 00:22 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Drive under the influence
200 block N. Highland Ave. – While investigating a report of a suspicious condition/vehicle the driver was found to be DUI. The driver was taken into custody and will be charged appropriately.

10-04-12 12:28 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan – Disorderly conduct
100 block Green Ave. (PWHS) – Fight at the high school, all juveniles were cited for disorderly conduct.

10-04-12 15:40 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan – Burglary-no force-residence-unknown time
Unit block W. Berkley Ave. – The victim reports several items missing from her home. She does suspect a woman who was in her home to help her after surgery. Missing from the home is silverware, and jewelry.

10-04-12 19:08 hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – Burglary-forced entry-residence- day
200 block Green Ave. – Victim returned home after being out all day and discovered the sliding glass door, which she had locked, was ajar. Entry was gain through a window. Victim states one box of jewelry and a jar of change were missing.

10-05-12 12:20 hours – Ptl. C. Craig – Robbery- strong arm
E. Stewart & N. Highland Aves. – Two arrested for strong arm robbery after assaulting the victim and taking his Apple I pad. Item was recovered.

10-05-12 13:17 hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza – Disorderly conduct
100 block Green Ave. (PWHS) – Three students in the attendance office that were found with illegal drugs. All three cited for disorderly conduct.

10-05-12 20:24 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Burglary-forced entry-residence-night
Until block E. Stratford Ave. -The victim arrived home and found his front door window smashed the door open and the dogs barking. Police checked the residence and did not observe anyone inside. Only items taken were food items. There were many valuable items in the house that were not touched.

10-05-12 21:04 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Public drunkenness
N. High & E. Lacrosse Aves. – Offender located at N. Highland after police received a call for an intoxicated subject. The offender was taken into custody and lodged until she sobered up enough to be released. Offender cited for public drunkenness.

10-06-12 01:53 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Driving under the influence
Unit block S. Lansdowne Ave. – This officer located a vehicle parked and obstructing the side walk. Observed in the driver seat was the unconscious offender. The offender was having a difficult time standing and keeping his balance, following instructions and dazed. He was taken into custody and processed. He will be charged appropriately.

10-06-12 05:39 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Robbery-attempt-strong arm-highway
S. Wycombe & Bartram Aves. – The victim reported that this morning at approximately 0510 hours she was approached by a white male who tried to rob her of her purse. The victim fought the male off by kneeing him, punching him and hitting him and then ran home. Investigation to continue.

10-06-12 12:45 hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza – Theft-attempted-auto accessories, criminal mischief to auto
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – The victim reports that someone had attempted to steal her Kenwood car radio from her vehicle. The vehicle was parked on and auto repair shops lot. No suspects or witnesses.

10-07-12 02:38 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Disorderly conduct
Unit block W. Baltimore Ave. – Police responded to a call of a suspicious condition and located a male going through bags in a vehicle. The offender was taken into custody and cited for disorderly conduct after he refused to produce ID at the scene and became unruly.

10-07-12 14:25 hours – Sgt. Kienzle – Theft- $200 & over
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – On arrival a 3000 watt Honda generator had been taken from an alley between the Lansdowne Theater and the Dollar Tree store. Suggested price is $1529.30
