Police activity week of 09-17-12 through 09-23-12

09-17-12 13:35 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Theft- $200 & over-from buildings
Unit block W. Baltimore Ave. – The victim reports that four gold rings were stolen from her condo unit. According to the victim the rings were missing from her jewelry box this past Saturday 9-17-12. She reported last seeing them approximately one month ago. The victim suspects her cleaning lady, but has no proof. Estimated loss to be approximately $750.00.

09-19-12 13:29 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Worthless checks
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – Dispatched to the PNC Bank to see the man. On arrival met the Branch Manager who reported that a male came into the bank and attempted to negotiate a check for $8,700.00. The check appeared to be suspect. The bank contacted the company listed on the check and were advised the check was fraudulent. When the suspect was confronted about the check he began to leave the bank without getting his ID back. The branch manager followed the suspect out of the bank. Just outside the front door the suspect lifted up his shirt and the Branch Manager saw what appeared to be a semiautomatic pistol. This incident will be referred to the Detectives for further investigation.

09-20-12 02:08 hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – Public drunkenness
E. Stewart & N. Union Aves. – Dispatched for a disorderly subject in the area. Located the offender lying in wet grass whit his pants down around his knees. Several bags containing empty and full beer cans/bottles were in his possession and he indicated he was drinking. The offender was unable to stand up on his own and was unable to stay up when helped. Ambulance was dispatched, responded and transported the offender to the hospital for evaluation.

09-20-12 09:21 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Theft- $200 & over from buildings
The complainant reports that sometime overnight an unknown actor/s did remove copper down spouts from the church. Total Loss is approximately $400.00.

09-21-12 23:45 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle – Harassment
Unit block W. Albemarle Ave. – Police responded to a neighbor complaint, not in progress. On arrival contact was made with three residents of the block. After speaking with these subjects it was determined that a pattern of threatening and intimidating behavior has been acted out by on subject toward another. The offender will be issued a citation for harassment.

09-23-12 13:23 hours – Sgt. B. Eidell – Criminal mischief to auto
N. Lansdowne & E. Stewart Aves. – Received a call to see the SEPTA bus driver at N. Lansdowne & E. Stewart Aves. in reference to a passenger breaking a window on the bus. The bus driver stated that the offender was refused entrance to the bus due to previous incidents. When the bus driver closed the doors the offender kicked the bottom half of the laminated glass window breaking same. No information on the offender at this time.
