Police activity week of 08-22-11 through 08-28-11

08-22-11 12:37 hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – Rape by force-firearm
Unit block e. Baltimore Ave. – Dispatched to DCMH for a report of a sexual assault. On arrival learned the victim had reported to the ER Nurse that she was raped at gun point in her sister’s apartment. Detectives notified and responded to the ER to interview the victim. Investigation is ongoing.


08-22-11 20:39 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Burglary- no force-residence-unknown time
Unit block Windermere Ave. -The victim reported someone stole her red 4 wheel seated walker along with her sewing making and black metal case for the machine from her storage bin located in the basement of the apartment building.


08-24-11 18:37 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Burglary-forced entry-residence- day
Unit block Ardmore Ave. – Victim reports his residence had been burglarized. Entrance made through basement window. Taken from residence were two apple Mac books, and a Wii game system, along with five games. Investigation to continue.


08-24-11 19:30 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Theft- $50 to $200 bicycles
Unit block Ardmore Ave. – The victim reports her husband’s mountain bike was stolen sometime overnight as it sat unsecured on her enclosed porch.


08-25-11 21:40 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Vandalism
200 block N. Lansdowne Ave. – Home owner reports damage to brick columns and gate in his driveway. Victim believes it may have been someone turning a vehicle around in his driveway.


08-26-11 01:26 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Harassment
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – Victim reports that a former employee of the store returned and was harassing her and threw a large cup of ice water at the victim in the deli area. As a result the victim had to throw out several sandwiches. The offender had left the area on police arrival.


08-26-11 19:15 hours – Ptl. C. Craig – Theft- $200 & over from building
Unit block W. LaCrosse Ave. – Victim reports cash stolen from her safe in her home. Victim believes it was taken by her friend who had been visiting. Money was noticed missing after friend left the apartment.


08-27-11 01:13 hours – Ptl. C. Brown – Driving under the influence
E. Baltimore Ave. – Offender arrested after involvement in accident. As officer approached the offender a strong odor of alcohol could be smelled emanating from the offenders person. The offender failed a portable breath test. Offender refused to provide police with sample of his blood for chemical testing. Offender was uncooperative and aggressive with officer during the traffic stop. Offender placed under arrest for driving under the influence.
