Police activity week of 08-13-12 through 08-19-12

08-13-12 05:51 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Criminal mischief to automobiles
E. LaCrosse Ave. 0spoke with victim who reported that sometime overnight the rear windshield of his window was broken. This is the second time one of the victim’s vehicles has been vandalized within the past couple of weeks.


08-14-12 02:51 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Loitering/prowling – at night
Unit block Price Ave. – Police responded to a report of three black males on bicycles riding up and down McKinley Avenue, possibly looking into vehicles. Located the group. One subject was detained immediately after being seen coming out of a driveway. The other two were taken into custody. The bicycles were returned to the police station and will be stored in the garage until ownership can be determined.


08-14-12 12:31 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan – Burglary-no force-nonresidence-day
Unit block W. Baltimore Ave. – Police dispatched for a suspicious condition. Located offender exiting building. Offender was taken into custody. The offender admitted to entering the building in an attempt to remove copper piping. Offender will be charged appropriately.


08-14-12 18:50 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Criminal mischief-all other
200 block Wabash Ave. – Victim reports a front door window pane broken at her residence. The daughter of the victim will be cited for criminal mischief.


08-14-12 12:45 hours – Sgt. K. Rutherford – Worthless checks
200 block Shadeland Ave. – The complainant came to headquarters to report receiving a bad check in the amount of $906.00 from a former business associate. I advised the complainant that I would speak to the associate. Spoke to the associate who advised he had paid some of the money back and was trying to pay the rest back to the complainant. Both parties are supposed to meet on 8/15/12 so a written agreement of payment can be drawn up. The complainant requested I hold off filing charges so that the associate can make good on the bad check.


08-16-12 09:49 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle – Other assaults-no aggravated
Unit block e. Stewart Ave. – Police responded to an assault that had just occurred. On arrival the victim stated that she had been assaulted by a man who lives on the first floor. The man was detained and later arrested. The victim stated the man touch her inappropriately touched her leg and buttocks.


08-16-12 19:55 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Public drunkenness
Congress Ave. & Marshall Rd. – Police dispatched for report of a domestic. The complainant could see a male trying to force a female into a vehicle. Upon speaking to the parties involved, it was determined the female was intoxicated and the man was just trying to take her home. The offender was taken into custody and will be cited for public drunkenness.


08-17-12 22:26 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan – Theft- $200 & over from buildings
200 block N. Wycombe Ave. – Reporting party claims money was taken from his residence. The reporting party gave conflicting statements to police as to what was stolen.


08-18-12 23:14 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan – Public drunkenness
E. Stewart & N. Highland Aves. – Offenders located after a domestic incident. The offenders were both under the influence of alcohol. Both the male & female offenders were taken into custody and will be cited appropriately.


08-19-12 12:08 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Theft- $200 & over from auto
Unit block W. Windermere Ave. – The victim reports unknown actors entered his work vehicle and removed a toll bag containing approximately $500 worth of tools. The victim thought he had locked the truck but cannot say so with certainty.
