Police activity week of 07-18-11 through 07-24-11
07-18-11 16:00 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Theft $200 & over all other
S. Lansdowne Ave. – The victim reports unknown subject/s did steal his Jazzy Select power wheel chair red in color. The victim was at a friend’s house (unknown address) in Lansdowne and left the wheel chair outside. Although the chair was stolen on Saturday, he waited until today to report the theft.
07-18-11 18:27 hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza – Burglary-forced entry-residence-night
Unit block E. Marshall Rd. – The reporting party states that copper pipes were stolen from the residence. Met the reporting party, the listing agent for the property. Side door to the property had been forced open and copper piping had been taken from the basement.
07-18-11 18:49 hours – False reports to police-criminal mischief
Unit block Bartram Ave. – Police received a report of a subject with a gun in front of the residence on Bartram Avenue who had fired a shot in the air. This officer along with other officers from multiple jurisdictions responded to this address at a high rate of speed. On arrival and after investigation the call was unfounded. The caller/offender was placed under arrest for false reports to police. After being placed in the police vehicle the offender proceeded to kick out the passenger side rear window of the police vehicle. Due to the offenders erratic behavior she was transported to the hospital for medical evaluation. The offender will be charged appropriately.
07-18-11 20:15 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Theft-$200 & over from buildings
Unit block E. Stratford Ave. – The victim called to report a theft that just occurred at her residence and the offender was in custody. The offender did have the victim property in her purse. The offender was taken into custody, processed and released to her mother.
07-20-11 10:35 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan – Theft- attempted-bicycles
Unit block Florence Ave. – The victim reports that around 10:25 hours she was letting her dog out in her back yard when she saw a black male who appeared to be around 13 years of age in her back yard looking at her daughters Power X red and white mountain bike. The victim also saw two other black males. The males left the area. Police checked the area with negative results.
07-20-11 10:53 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan – Theft- under $50 bicycles
200 block Wabash Ave. – The victim states that his son’s bicycle was stolen sometime last night. The bike is left next to the front porch steps every night unlocked.
07-20-11 12:04 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle – Assaults-simple
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – Police responded to an assault in progress. On arrival the offender had left the area in a black Monte Carlo and was last seen heading north on Lansdowne Ave. Neither of the victims requested an ambulance. The incident began when a customer/offender had a complaint about a phone. The victim advised the offender he was waiting on someone and when he was done he would address the complaint. This angered the offender who spit on the victim and shoved the other customer. The offender then tried to smash the display case. The offender left the store and went to his vehicle and left the area.
07-21-11 13:44 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle – Burglary – attempt-nonresidence-night
Unit block s. Lansdowne Ave. – Police responded to an attempted burglary. The business owner stated that sometime between 6PM last evening and 9:30 AM this morning unknown actor/s attempted to enter the business. The glass wing windows, which she does not use, had been forced open from the outside. The actor/s got the glass open but when they reached inside they could not open the dead bolt. Nothing known missing at this time.
07-21-11 20:30 hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – All other vandalism
Unit block Bartram Ave. – The victim flagged down this officer in front of the police station to report that his tenant called him to report that an unknown subject threw a rock through a screen and double pane casement window at his rental property. This officer did respond to the property and observed the broken wind and rock. No one witnessed the act.
07-22-11 18:15 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan -Theft- $50-$200 auto parts & accessories
Unit block E. Baltimore Ave. -The victim reports that all four wheel center caps on his Cadillac Deville were stolen. The value of the caps is approximately $40.00 each.
07-22-11 23:50 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Burglary-forced entry-residence- unknown time
Unit block Nyack Ave. – The victim reports his tools missing from an apartment when was doing work on. He states the tools were inside the door. He discovered the door kicked in to the apartment and his tools missing. Advised the victim to compile a list of stolen property, its description and value for the report.
07-23-11 00:37 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Robbery-armed-firearm-residence
Unit block Ardmore Ave. – Police were dispatched for a robbery at gun point by a black male and female, no direction of travel. On police arrival one victim stated they just got robbed and his friend got pistol whipped in the face. The second victim stated two unknown black males and an unknown black female entered his residence and robbed everyone then pistol whipped him in the face. All in attendance were interviewed. Investigation to continue.
07-24-11 17:43 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan -Theft- under $50 from buildings
Unit block Sayers Ave. -The victim states to police that when she arrived home she found her mailbox missing.
