Police activity week of 07-16-12 through 07-22-12
07-16-12 12:42 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Burglary-attempt-residence-night
Unit block Drexel Ave. – The victim called to report an attempted burglary at her home that occurred Thursday evening 7-12-12 around 2300 hours. Victim stated she heard noises around 2300 hours on 7-12-12 from rear of him in kitchen. She checked and observed a drinking glass had shattered on the kitchen floor. The victim believed a mouse and probably knocked over the glass and she didn’t hear anything else the rest of the night. I should be noted she had turned off the air conditioner and the window in the kitchen was left open. On 7-14-12 the victim noticed a large “L” shaped slit in the kitchen window screen. No entry was made and noticing known missing at this time. The victim states that she did not believe this was an emergency and did not call police until today. The victim was made aware of the importance of timely notification to police in these instances. She was also made aware of the recent burglaries in town and the importance of keeping her house locked tight when she is not at home.
07-17-12 15:15 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Theft- $50 to $200 from buildings
Unit block S. Lansdowne Ave. – Reporting party states a white file box and a black cash box were missing from the building. No forced entry. The loss is estimated at $70.00 for each box. Nothing else known missing at this time and there was no signs of trespass in the building.
07-17-12 11:30 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Burglary-forced entry-residence-day
100 block Bartram Ave. – Dispatched for a burglary-just occurred. Reporting party advised that the actor travelled east on Bartram and then north on Union and west on the SEPTA tracks. Responding officers checked the area but did not locate the actor. Spoke with resident of the property and she believes items missing are an HP laptop, a digital camera, two headsets, and a window envelope with $500.00 cash. Point of entry appears to be a basement window on the west side of the house.
07-17-12 11:32 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Theft- $50 to $200 bicycles
Unit block S. Lansdowne Ave. – The victim reports that on 7-11-12 his Mongoose “trick bike” was stolen from in front of the Lansdowne Library. The bike was not locked and is valued around $100.00.
07-17-12 20:05 hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – Theft- $50 to $100 bicycles
Belmont Park – The victim reports her son’s bike was stolen today in Belmont Park. The son left his bike by the sliding board in the park and he and his friend went to his house. When they returned to the park approximately 45 minutes later the bike was not there. Bike described as a blue, black and white Mongoose Crush with rear pegs.
07-17-12 20:31 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Assaults-other
Bartram Ave. – Police received a call for a fight out. The caller reported that she just broke up a fight between another girl and her daughter and that she hit the other girl with her flip flop to break up the fight. After hearing all sides of the incident the mothers of the battling parties were advised to speak to Sgt. Donegan or the Chief of Police in an attempt to resolve the problems between the girls and the mothers.
07-18-12 15:00 hours – Ptl. C. Craig – Theft- $200 & over bicycles
Unit block E. Essex Ave. – Victim reports his son’s bike stolen from backyard. The victim’s son received a text message from a girl saying she knew who had his bike and that the two actors wanted to sell it back to him. The victim’s son stated that the one male was going to call him tomorrow to arrange a time and place to possibly buy the bike back. The victim and his son were advised to call the police once he receives the call from the actor.
07-19-12 16:14 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle – Theft- $200 & over from buildings
Unit block E. Essex Ave. – Victim reports that sometime between Tuesday 7-17-12 and Wednesday 7-18-12 a watch and cash were taken from a dresser drawer in her bedroom. The victim suspects her roommates boyfriend.
07-20-12 11:00 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Theft- under $50 bicycle
Unit block E. Plumstead Ave. – The victim reports his red mountain bike taken that he parked near the rear of the property. Bike worth approximately $50.00.
07-20-12 15:15 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Boro-ord-soliciting
N. Highland & Plumstead Aves. – While on patrol this officer observed the two offenders walking from house to house. They appeared to be soliciting. When I stopped them and asked them what they were doing, one offender admitted that they were soliciting. They did not have permits. Both offenders will be issued citations by mail.
07-21-12 03:42 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Harassment
100 block N. Lansdowne Ave. – Police responded to a domestic problem. On arrival police encountered the victim standing outside the apartment. The victim stated she got into an argument with her boyfriend and he physically threw her out of the apartment without any clothes other then what she was wearing. The offender would not answer the door to the apartment. The offender will be issued citations for disorderly conduct and harassment.
07-21-12 11:20 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Theft- under $50 retail theft
Unit block E. Baltimore Ave. – Manager of the Rte Aid called police after observing a black male enter the store and remove merchandise from a rack and did leave the store without paying for same. The Manager will deliver a copy of the security footage to the police department.
07-21-12 14:57 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Harassment
Unit block Linden Ave. – The victim called and stated her daughter was threatening her and everyone in the house. Situation was calmed down and police left scene. At 17:40 hours police were again dispatched to this location. ON arrival could hear the offender yelling from outside the house. Offender was taken into custody and issued citations.
07-21-12 19:50 hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – Theft- $200 & over from auto
Unit block E. Stratford Ave. – Victim stated he last saw his cell phone in his brothers vehicle today at approximately 1830 hours. When returning to vehicle victim discovered the phone missing.
