Police activity week of 07-15-13 through 07-21-13

07-15-13 09:45 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Theft- $200 & over from buildings
200 block N. Lansdowne Ave. – The victim reports theft of electronic equipment from his apartment. Missing from the apartment: Samsung laptop, Xbox 360 and an IPod. No signs of forced entry. The victim states his daughter had lost the keys to the apartment several months ago, but he has since changed the locks.


07-16-13 22:45 hours – Ptl. P. Young – Disorderly conduct
Unit block E. Baltimore Ave. – While on a traffic the offender was observed to have glassy eyes. The offender was asked if he had been drinking. He stated he had two mixed drinks while at a family party. The offender, with his permission, was patted down. The offender was then asked if officers could search his vehicle. The offender gave officer’s permission to search the vehicle. Located in the vehicle was a ziplock bag with a small amount of suspected marijuana. The offender was placed under arrest and issued citation for an expired registration and disorderly conduct.


07-18-13 00:11 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Theft- $200 & over from auto
100 block Midway Ave. – The victim reports her vehicle was parked in front of the residence at approximately 2300 hours. The victim when out shortly after midnight and discovered the right front passenger side window was broken and she was missing items from the vehicle. Missing items are: her white Samsung Galaxy II phone along with the black phone charger, a leather purse and wallet containing approximately $65.00 in cash, credit cards, identification, blank checks and a red bag containing important papers.


07-18-13 01:11 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Theft – $50 to $200 from auto
100 block Windsor Ave. – Police responded for report of car alarm sounding. The victim reported he heard his vehicle alarm going off and when he looked out he saw a male walking at the end of his driveway. Police searched the area with negative results. Returned to victim who stated his right front passenger window was cracked and broken and the right rear passenger window was shattered. Missing from the vehicle: Magnabox portable DVD player, 47 medical DVD/s/CD’s. Also missing a black GPX DVD player, cell phone ear pieces and a leather pouch with change and parking tokens.


07-18-13 01:40 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – MV theft-street-residential area
100 block Berkley Ave. – The victim called police to report his mother’s Toyota Corolla, unknown NY tag stolen from the front of his residence. The victim was observed to be highly intoxicated. The victim stated he came home from the bar tonight and discovered the vehicle gone. He stated he only has one set of keys and he had them on him.


07-18-13 02:21 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Theft – under $50 from auto
200 block N. Maple Ave. – Police were dispatched to the rear of the 300 block of N. Wycombe Avenue for suspicious conditions. The complaint ant heard the sound of glass breaking and saw a shadow moving around behind the house. As a result of the above police discovered a blue 2004 Dodge Ram with the passenger side window smashed. The victim looked through his truck and discovered only less than $1.00 of loose change was stolen. The inside of the vehicle had been ransacked.


07-18-13 02:21 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Theft- Under $50 from auto
300 block N. Wycombe Ave. – When this officer responded to a report of glass breaking in the rear of the home, someone started running from the rear to the front of the property. Ran after the male, but lost sight of him. Additional officers checked area and were unable to locate the subject. The victim of the offense reported his vehicle right rear passenger window was broken out. Missing from the vehicle was an old MP3 player along with a black leather wallet with the insurance card.


07-18-13 02:21 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Theft – under $50 from auto
200 block N. Wycombe Ave. – The complaint heard the sound of glass breaking and saw a shadow moving around behind the house. Police discovered the passenger side window to a 2000 Ford Taurus smashed. The interior of the vehicle appeared to have been ransacked. Made contact with the victim, she searched her vehicle and discovered that the registration was stolen


07-18-13 02:21 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Theft- under $50 from auto
200 block N. Wycombe Ave. – Police dispatched to suspicious conditions. The complaint heard the sound of breaking glass and saw a shadow moving around behind the house. As a result of the above call police discovered the passenger side window to a gray 2008 Chevrolet cobalt smashed. The interior of the vehicle appeared to have been ransacked. Contact was made with the victim. She searched her vehicle and discovered approximately $15.00 and one unknown make or model GPS stolen.


07-18-13 02:21 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – All other vandalism
200 block N. Wycombe Ave. – As a result of suspicious condition call police discovered the passenger side window to a green Ford F150 smashed. The victim searched his vehicle and did not discover anything stolen.


07-18-13 02:21 hours – Ptl C. Schiazza – Theft-under $50 from auto
100 block N. Maple Ave. – Located through investigation of numerous car break ins a black Infiniti with the left rear window shattered. Victim notified and he believes the only thing missing from his vehicle was his wallet. A black wallet was recovered with the victim’s documents and expired drivers license.


07-18-08:40 hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – Theft – $200 & over from auto
100 Block Windsor Ave. – Dispatched for theft discovered. The victim reports her 2012 Lexus RX350 was forcibly entered. The vehicle was observed to have three broken windows and the navigation control joy stick was also damaged. At this time the only thing known missing is cash.


07-18-13 08:38 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan – Criminal mischief to auto
300 block N. Maple Ave. – the victim reports that sometime overnight someone had broken into her vehicle. This officer observed the right rear doo’s window shattered. There was paperwork tossed around inside the vehicle, but nothing appeared to be missing.


07-18-13 13:21 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan – Theft – under $50
100 block Windsor Ave. – The victim reports that this morning he discovered his left rear door window was shattered and the vehicle ransacked. Only thing reported missing from vehicle was $7.00 in cash.


07-18-13 14:48 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan – Theft- under $50- bicycles
Unit block S. Lansdowne Ave. – the victim reports his Schwinn mountain bike, an older model with a gray basket was taken from the front of the library. Bicycle valued at $approximately $50.00.


07-18-13 16:41 hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – Theft- $200 & over from auto
300 block N. Wycombe Ave. – The complaint reports the right rear door glass broken and the interior the vehicle in disarray on his mother’s vehicle. The complainant is unsure what is missing. The victim the complaints’ mother is away on vacation.


07-19-13 07:52 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Burglary-attempt-nonresidence-night
Unit block Bryn Mawr Ave. – On arrival the victim reports he found his garage door open this morning which he states is always closed and locked. Sometime during the night actor/s forced the door open as there was damage to the middle bottom portion of the garage door. Inside the garage, this officer observed, numerous items of junk strewn about with nothing that looked of real value. The victim states it did not appear that anything was missing.


07-19-13 18:43 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli -Boro- ord-soliciting
100 block W. Albemarle Ave. – One taken into custody and issued a citation for canvassing, peddling and or soliciting within the Borough of Lansdowne without the required registration and license or permit.


07-19-13 20:59 hours – Ptl. P. Young – Disorderly conduct-public drunkenness
100 block W. Essex Ave. – This officer respond for a domestic outside where a male had just broken the front window to the house. This officer made contact with the offender, who appeared to have lacerations on his right hand after punching through a window. The offender stated his mother wouldn’t let him in the house so he got angry and punched the window. The offender also broke a window out of a vehicle parked in the driveway. After the offender was cleared medically for the hand lacerations he was missed two citations and placed in cell until he sobered up.


07-20-13 04:12 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Public drunkenness
E. Plumstead and Green Aves. – While on bike patrol this officer did observe the subject. This subject appeared to be intoxicated as he was walking with a staggered gait and was swaying from side to side on the sidewalls, several times stepping off of the sidewalk into the street. The subject was stopped and he was advised that this officer suspected him to be intoxicated. The subject’s eyes were extremely glassy and bloodshot; he had slurred speech and an odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath and person. He was taken into custody and will be cited.


07-21-13 02:23 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Narcotics- possession- marijuana
200 block Glentay Ave. – While on bike patrol this officer observed the offender standing at the corner of Belmont Park. This officer was on bike patrol due to several vehicle break-ins in the last week. The offender was observed holding a cigar and a clear glassine sandwich baggie with a green vegetable like matter in his left hand. There was a very strong odor of marijuana on his person. The offender was taken into custody. Police recovered a small black “AWS” digital scale with suspected marijuana reside on it and three Ziplock sandwich bags with suspected marijuana residue in them. The offender will be charged appropriately.
