Police activity week of 07-11-11 through 07-17-11
07-11-11 01:15 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Disorderly conduct
S. Lansdowne Ave. @ Nyack Ave. – This officer initiated a traffic stop after observing a vehicle run a stop sign and travel over the speed limit. After a search a small amount of marijuana was located under the passenger seat. Both occupants were cited for disorderly conduct.
07-11-11 16:00 hours – Ptl. C. Brown – Disorderly conduct
200 block W. Baltimore Ave. -The offender received services from the hair salon and stated she would get the money from her mother to pay for the services. The offender left the store leaving her friend behind. The offender was located and returned to the store. The victim did not wish to pursue charges and just wanted to be paid for her services. The juvenile offender was turned over to Children and Youth Services, as no family member would take her into their custody. The offender will be charged with disorderly conduct.
07-11-11 17:15 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan – Fraud-credit cards, atm
Unit block E. Albemarle Ave. – The victim contacted police and stated that he had lost his wallet he believes Friday night while exiting a Taxi at his home. His credit card company contacted him stating there were attempts to use his car in Philadelphia. Investigation to continue.
07-12-11 00:55 hours – Ptl. C. Craig – Robbery-strong arm
Windermere @ Plumstead Ave. – The victim reports that while he was walking home, a dark SUV stopped several feet in front of him. At this time a black male asked him if he knew what time it was and where he was going. The victim states that a male exited the passenger rear door and grabbed him. The driver and another passenger exited the vehicle and all three began to punch and rob him. The offender returned to the SUV and left the area. The victim states his I Phone 4 was taken along with a bag containing his school work and wallet.
07-12-11 09:00 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle – Theft- under $50
200 block W. Plumstead Ave. – The victim reports a plant taken from her front porch sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning. Value of loss $40.00.
07-12-11 23:17 hours – Sgt. B. Eidell – Driving under the influence
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – Police received an anonymous complaint of a reckless operator driving a green Chevy pickup truck. The vehicle was located pulling off of the Wawa parking to. This officer, Off. McGinnis and Off. Craig were following behind the vehicle and all three officers observed the vehicle swerve over the yellow lines on several occasions. The vehicle was stopped. The offender, while being questioned, was falling asleep. The offender stated he was taking pain medications. The offender was placed into police custody and will be charged accordingly.
07-13-11 05:00 hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – MV theft- trucks-driveway
Unit block Rose Ln. – This department received a call from Philadelphia PD to speak to the resident on the unit block of Rose Lane to determine who had his blue 2006 Ford F250 pickup truck. The vehicle was involved in a pursuit and apprehension in Philadelphia. The officer did make contact with the victim who stated his vehicle should be in the driveway. Vehicle was not in driveway. The victim was requested to respond to Philadelphia to pick up his vehicle.
07-13-11 09:04 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Public drunkenness
Black & Wycombe Aves. – Complainant was driving and observed a female on the ground trying to wave to passing cars. He called police. On arrival located the offender who was severely intoxicated. Due to her condition she was transported to the hospital and a citation will be issued, via mail, for public drunkenness.
07-13-11 16:00 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – theft- under $50 from auto
100 block N. Lansdowne Ave. -The victim states photos and $50 were stolen from her vehicle.
07-14-11 13:21 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Disorderly conduct
S. Union Ave. -The offender was apprehended after the initial report from Lt. M. Dolley, Yeadon Pd. Lt. Dolley observed the offender carrying a ladder approaching the RR tracks. Offender was apprehended and stated the ladder was his but had no proof of same. The offender will be cited for disorderly conduct. Ladder was confiscated.
07-14-11 23:50 hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza – Robbery-attempt-strong arm-highway
W. Marshall & Barker – The victim was approached by two actors. The victim ran and was pushed to the ground by the actors. The actors attempted to take the victims’ purse; the act was interrupted by a passing motorist who yelled at the actors. The actors ran from the area. This was originally reported to Upper Darby Police Department.
07-15-11 13:32 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle – Disorderly conduct
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – This officer responded to the Wawa store at the request of PA State Constable Conner. The witness, Constable Conner, observed the offender urinate in public and then place a bottle of full urine on the curb. The offender will be cited.
07-15-11 20:50 hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – Theft- $50 to $200 bicycles
100 block W. Plumstead Ave. -The victim’s bike was removed from his back yard. Bike is a red & black BMX style with a spring seat.
07-16-11 11:59 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Burglary-no force-residence- unknown time.
200 block N. Wycombe Ave. – The victim reports some copper piping missing from his vacant property. The property is under renovation. Investigation to continue.
07-16-11 21:18 hours – Sgt. B. Eidell – Burglary-no force-residence- unknown
200 block Shadeland Ave. – The victim reports a burglary at his residence. The vim stated that a realtor showed the house to a potential client sometime before 16:30 hours. The victim came home approximately 16:45 hours and all was ok. The victim left the house again at approximately 17:30 hours, upon his returned at 20:30 hours he front the front door unlocked. Missing from the home was approximately $150.00. Investigation to continue.
07-17-11 11:44 hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – Criminal mischief to auto
100 block W. Marshall Rd. – The victim reports the front driver’s side window had been shattered. This officer observed the window to be shattered but still in place inside the frame of the door. This officer did not observe a point of impact on the shattered window or anything in the area that could possibly cause the damage. The victim stated that the same thing happened to her husband’s other vehicle several months ago and that another vehicle of hers had recently sustained several scratches to it. It should be noted that the previous damage to the other vehicle were never reported to the police.
07-17-11 18:39 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle – Driving under the influence
E. Marshall Rd. – The offender was found unconscious in her vehicle. She refused transport to the hospital, was given two field sobriety tests which she failed and was arrested to DUI.
07-17-11 15:26 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Driving under the influence
Unit block E. Greenwood Ave. – The offender was taken into to custody for DUI.
