Police activity week of 07-02-12 through 07-08-12

07-02-12 09:39 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan – Burglary-attempt-nonresidence-night
100 block N. Union Ave. – The victim reports his place of business was entered. Side window to the front office had been broken and the lower window opened. Only loss at this time is damage to the window.


07-03-12 09:56 hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – Theft- $200 & over- from auto
Unit block E. Stratford Ave. – Anonymous resident reported a broken window on a vehicle parked in driveway of a residence on unit block of E. Stratford Avenue. The glove compartment was open and appeared gone through. Did contact vehicle owner/victim. Who stated vehicle was locked and alarm set. Victim reported her Apple IPod Touch 36gb, GPS and a black wallet missing from the vehicle.


07-03-12 12:30 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Theft- under $50 from auto
Unit block E. Stratford Ave. – Victim reports their vehicle entered by unknown person. The vehicle was left unsecured in the victim’s driveway. Actor entered the unlocked front passenger door and emptied out a change purse and paper money. Nothing else appears to be missing.


07-03-12 10:38 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Theft- $200 & over from auto.
Unit block W. LaCrosse Ave. – The victims vehicle was broken into overnight. The vehicle was secured. Actor smashed out front passenger side window and ransacked vehicle. Taken from the vehicle was the victim’s IPod 32G Touch.


07-03-12 22:46 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Burglary-forced entry – residence-day
Unit block Scottdale Rd. – The victim discovered upon returning home that an unknown actor did take his black Sony Play Station 3. Possible entry is the second floor bathroom window.


07-03-12 18:00 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Theft-attempted from auto.
Unit block E. LaCrosse Ave. – The victim parked her vehicle and secure it with her key fob and alarm. Upon returning to the vehicle the victim notice unknown actors broke into her vehicle and ransacked it.
No appears missing.


07-04-12 22:49 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle – Trespassing of real property
Unit block Fairview Ave. – Offender found in rear yard of property. No obvious signs of entry to the property. Siblings of the offender state he is not permitted on the property and he does not live there.
Offender cited for trespass and released.


07-04-12 23:15 hours – Ptl. S. Nick, Jr. – Narcotics-possession
100 block N. Union Ave. – Police dispatched for report of domestic in progress. The disputed reportedly involved a mother and daughter arguing over drugs and paraphernalia which had been found in the daughter’s purse. Investigation to continue.


07-05-12 19:01 hours – Sgt. D. Donegan – Theft- $200 & over from auto
100 block N. Wycombe Ave. – The victim reports unknown actor/s entered her vehicle and rummaged through the glove compartment. Between 7-4-12 and 7-5-12. Vehicle believed to be secured. Nothing missing at this time.

The victim stated that on 6-18-12 she noticed unknown actor/s entered the same vehicle and stole a black Apple IPod Touch and some loose change. She called LPD and advised to call back when she gets home, she never called back.


07-05-12 23:02 hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza – Criminal mischief
100 block Ardmore Ave.(Ardmore Avenue School) – Report of vandalism that just occurred in which a group of juvenile stray painted walls at the school. Area check for juvenile with negative results. Graffiti spray painted on the snack bar on the field.


07-06-12 12:54 hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – Theft-attempted from buildings
Unit block E. Baltimore Ave. – On arrival complainant reported that a B/M, thin wearing cargo shorts & a white tee shirt did attempt to steal two packs of razor blades, which the complainant recovered from his pants pocket. The male then ran from the store carrying a bag with unknown contents. Area checked with negative results.


07-06-12 13:30 hours – Ptl. S. Nick, Jr. – Theft-attempted- from auto.
Unit block W. Stratford Ave. – Flagged down by a citizen to take a report of a discovered theft attempt. The victim states someone entered his vehicle. The vehicle doors were unlocked at the time of the incident. Nothing reported missing or damaged.


07-07-12 06:27 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Theft- $50 to $200 from auto
Unit block E. Stratford Ave. – The victim reports someone stole his Sirius Satellite radio from his unlocked car. The car doors were unlocked and there was no sign of forced entry. The victim reports that two weeks ago a computer was taken from his vehicle but he believes that may have happened in front of a bar and not in Lansdowne. The theft was never reported to police.


07-07-12 09:43 hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – Theft $50 to $200 from auto
100 block E. Greenwood Ave. -The victim stated that his vehicle was broken into. IPod Nano is missing. The victim is positive he locked the doors to his vehicle. No damage to the vehicle.


07-08-12 22:41 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Robbery-armed-firearm-chain store
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – Victims work inside the Chinese takeout restaurant when a black male entered the back door and robbed them. The actor displayed a black semi automatic hand gun. The actor took approximately $200.00 from the drawer and two cell phones. Offender last seen on foot out the back door in unknown direction.
