Police Blotter 07-29-19 to 08-04-19

07/29/2019 00:38 – HARASSMENT

Police were dispatched to Congress Ave., for a report of a domestic that was physical. Officers responded to the above listed address where contact was made outside of the home with the victim. The victim reported that his partner pushed him into the storm door causing the storm door window to break and shatter. A male was cited for Harassment.

07/29/2019 09:18 – ROBBERY ATTEMPT

Police were dispatched for an assault that had previously occurred. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim who advised that at approx 0300 hours on 07/29/19, he was traveling north bound on S Lansdowne Ave approaching Nyack Ave. he could see two males, who appeared to be in their late teens or early twenties, ahead of him at the intersection. As he began to ride past, one of the males kicked his bicycle knocking him to the ground. The two then held him on the ground and attempted to take his wallet out of his right front pocket.


The Lansdowne Police were dispatched to the Gladstone Station Apartments for a report of a theft from vehicle discovered. Upon arrival we spoke with the victim who reported that sometime overnight the actor(s) broke the left front operator side door window and also broke the windows on other vehicles that were parked in the parking lot. A total of ten vehicles were damaged with a small amount of personal belongings taken.

07/30/2019 12:58 – RETAIL THEFT

Police were dispatched for a retail theft that just occurred. Officers located the offender who was identified by the witness and found to be in possession of the stolen items.

07/31/2019 10:09 – THEFT

The victim reported that some time overnight his unlocked vehicle was entered and extensively gone through. Two pairs of socks and a shaver were the only things known missing at the time of report.

07/31/2019 19:59 – THEFT FROM AUTOMOBILE
NORTH MAPLE AVE. Police responded to North Maple Ave. for the theft from vehicle report. Property taken was loose change and phone chargers. The victims are certain the vehicles were locked. No signs of forced entry.

08/01/2019 10:32 – MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT

Police were dispatched for the stolen vehicle discovered. The victim indicated that he parked the vehicle on Mansfield Ave. on the side of his residence at around 22:00Hrs on 7/31/19. Upon returning to the vehicle, the vehicle was no longer on location.

08/01/2019 11:10 – FLIMFLAM

Police were dispatched to W Baltimore Ave for the report of a phone scam. The victim stated that on Monday, July 29, 2019 at approximately 1650 hours, she was contacted by phone. She stated that a recording played stating that it was urgent that she call the phone# back. Victim stated that she called the phone number back and was advised that her social security number was being misused and that crimes were being committed in Texas using her information. She stated that after being transferred to a bunch of different people, she was asked to provide her social security number as well as other identifying information.

08/01/2019 17:10 – THEFT OF BICYCLE

The victim reported that her children’s bicycles were stolen from the backyard of their residence. The bikes were last seen at 1430hrs and when the victim returned to them at 1630hrs, the bikes were missing and another bike, a light green Pacific Evolution kids mountain bike was left behind.

08/01/2019 20:12 – BURGLARY

This burglary is believed to have occurred during the daytime hours on Wednesday (07 /24 j 19). Entry was gained through the open garage door. All property was taken from the garage; access was not gained into the residence. The victim said that garden equipment/tools were taken.

08/03/2019 00:41 – LOITERING & PROWLING

While on patrol, an officer observed four male juveniles in the street on the 100 block of Woodland Ave. Upon seeing the patrol vehicle, they began to run north towards Wabash Ave. Officer was then able to locate two of the juveniles on Wabash Ave. The two juvenile males were taken into custody and charged.

08/03/2019 04:31 -THEFT FROM VEHICLE

Officer made contact with the victim/vehicle owner who advised that the license plate from his vehicle was stolen or missing.

08/03/2019 01:55 – NARCOTICS POSSESSION

Police were dispatched to a report of subject down in the roadway on Linden Ave nearS. Wycombe Ave. Through police investigation, the subject was taken into custody for narcotics charges and a warrant.

08/03/2019 04:20 – DISORDERLY CONDUCT

While on bike patrol, officer observed a parked, occupied vehicle at the intersection of Shadeland Ave and W. Plumstead Ave. Due to the recent vehicle break -ins, officer made contact with the occupants who were located in the back seat. A strong odor of burnt marijuana was detected inside of the vehicle and a marijuana blunt was located in the cup holder. Subject admitted that the marijuana was his and he was cited for disorderly conduct.

08/03/2019 08:30 – THEFT FROM VEHICLE

Police were dispatched for a theft from vehicle discovered. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the owner. The vehicle was legally parked on the roadway. He discovered that the theft had occurred just prior to calling police. Taken were items valued at approx $350.

08/03/2019 13:23 – THEFT FROM VEHICLE

Police responded to a report of found property on W. Essex Avenue. On arrival, a woman’s bag was found with paperwork. After making contact with the owner on W. Essex Avenue, it was learned that the bag had been in her unlocked vehicle. The victim stated that a work computer had been in the bag and was stolen

08/03/2019 20:56 – DISORDERLY CONDUCT

Police were dispatched to Marlyn Avenue for a report of a possibly intoxicated subject knocking on the reporting party’s door. Additional information was that the subject had done yard work for the reporting party in the past. Upon arrival, one offender was taken into custody.
