Police activity week of 07-01-13 through 07-07-13

07-01-13 22:24 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Theft-$200 and over
100 block E. Plumstead Ave. – The victim called police after discovering a theft of $200 from inside the mini mart. The victim had placed $200 in her bra strap and went to the mini mart. After leaving the store and returning home she discovered she no longer had the $200. She retraced her steps back to the store. On police arrival at the mini mart the store manager replayed the security footage at the register and it clearly showed the money falling out of the bra strap without the victim noticing. The footage then showed two males entering the store about 20 minutes later and one of the male picking up the money off the floor and putting it in his pocket. The store manager stated these males are regular customers. The store manager will download the footage and police will follow up on the incident.

07-03-13 12:00 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Theft- $50 to $200 – retail theft
Unit block E. Baltimore Ave. – While on a dispatched call the manager of the store advised me of a theft which occurred on 06-30-13. The manager stated she encountered an unknown white female stealing numerous items from the store. The manager confronted the female and removed every stolen item from the female’s bag and scanned it generating a receipt totaling $65.10. The manager did not obtain any of the female’s information nor did she call police at the time of the incident. The manager does want to fully prosecute now if the woman is identified.

07-03-13 20:31 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle – Assault-knife or cutting instrument
Unit block E. Stewart Ave. – Police were dispatched to an assault. On arrival a man had been stabbed in the abdomen numerous times. The victim was transported to Hospital of the University of Penn by ambulance for treatment. One man was taken into custody and later charged.

07-03-13 Ptl. D. Schiazza – Robbery-armed-firearm-chain store
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – Police were dispatched for a report of an armed robbery involving three armed men. All of the actors were reported to have been wearing white tee shirts over their heads covering their face and heads. $614.00 in cash was taken and one of the victim’s cell phone. The actors were last seen traveling west on W. Baltimore Avenue on foot. LPD and surrounding area police departments checked the area but did not located the actors. Investigation referred to Detective Division.

07-04-13 21:51 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Disorderly conduct
100 block Green Ave. – While on bike patrol around the PWHS officers detected the strong odor ob burnt marijuana in the area. Two were taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct. One offender was in possession of a container which contained marijuana residue.

07-07-13 08:20 hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – Theft- $200 & over
Unit block E. Stewart Ave. – The reporting party called police when he discovered a power washer missing from his work truck. The power washer belongs to his employer.

07-07-13 08:35 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Burglary-forced entry – residence- unknown time.
Unit block W. Plumstead Ave. – While checking a property for sale and unoccupied discovered a door of the residence was forced open. It is unknown at this time what was taken, but the actors attempted to rip the wall mounted stove out of the wall. It is possible that the refrigerator and washer and dryer were stolen as those appliances are missing. A posted on the front window stated the name and number of the company to contact about the property. Did leave a voice mail to have them call police.

07-07-13 08:00 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan -Theft- $50 to $200 from auto
Unit block E. Stewart Ave. – The victim reports unknot person/s entered his unsecure and unattended vehicle overnight. Missing from the vehicle is a Dewalt Drill carrying cast which contained the charger and extra batter for the drill.
