Police activity week of 06-27-11 through 07-03-11
06-27-11 14:52 hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – MV theft-driveway
Unit block W. Plumstead Ave. – The victim reports that she has been away and she had lent her car to her son who was supposed to return the car to her at 10am this date. When the victim didn’t see her car in the driveway she assumed her son had not returned it so she called him. Upon speaking to her son the victim learned her son had in fact returned the car to her driveway on 6-26-11 at 22:00 hours and turned the only known key to the car to his grandmother, the victim’s mother. The victim checked and her mother did have the key.
06-29-11 13:57 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Theft- $200 & over from auto
200 block N. Lansdowne Ave. – The victim called police after discovering someone stole $6,200.00 in one hundred bills out of his center console of the vehicle he was driving. A CD of the security video will be obtained and turned into this department.
06-20-11 21:07 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Trespassing of real property
100 block w. Marshall Rd. – Police were dispatched to 100 block W. Marshall Road after neighbors reported seeing the homeowners inside of the house in violation of an eviction ordered by the Department of Health and Lansdowne Borough Codes Department. This officer spoke with CEO Jozwaik and he advised the homeowners were allowed to enter the residence today for the purpose of cleaning but were supposed to be out by 14:30 hours. The residents were advised they had to leave the residence. As the house was deemed uninhabitable and the homeowners would not allow police or codes department to enter property, forcible entry was made. Both homeowners were placed in custody.
07-01-11 00:56 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Disorderly conduct
100 block S. Lansdowne Ave. – Police received a call of a domestic problem in the basement apartment. On arrival police could hear a verbal argument. The female offender was placed into custody after being repeatedly told to refrain from shouldering the male in the domestic argument. The female offender is five months pregnant with the male’s child and appeared to be intoxicated. The female offender was returned to police headquarters where she was cited and released.
07-01-11 03:12 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Burglary-no force-residence-night
100 block Bryn Mawr Ave. – Police received a call of a burglary interrupted. The victim stated that she heard a noise and went to see what it was and saw a black male leaving her house through the front door. The victim stated she didn’t lock her front door or activate her alarm before going to bed. Police from several departments were in the area within minutes of the call but there was no one located. The victim stated she was missing a purse containing her wallet, driver’s license, credit cards and ID card, check book and some cosmetics.
07-01-11 06:30 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Burglary-forced entry-residence-night
Unit block W. Plumstead Ave. – Police dispatched for burglary discovered. The victim stated he went ot work on 6-20-11 at 2100 hours and came home at 0625hours and discovered his apartment broken into. The screen and glass sliding door was how entry was gained and observed forced open. Missing from the apartment was a debit card, one Samsung 27″ flat screen TV, 12 multi colored polo sweaters, twenty pairs of blue jean, one drivers license and one Fossil brown watch and approximately $70.00 in change.
07-01-11 07:50 hours – Ptl. C. Craig – Burglary-forced entry-residence-unknown time
100 block Lansdowne Court -The victim reports that on today’s date he noticed a large jar of change and currency missing from the back bedroom. The victim reports he noticed that on Tuesday the front porch screen window was torn/cut, but he thought his cat’s had done it.
07-02-11 03:30 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle – Liquor Law-underage drinking
N. Highland Ave @ Price Ave. – Police stopped juvenile offender who was on the street after curfew. The offender had an odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and person. He was taken into custody and returned to police headquarters. The offender was cited for underage drinking and released to his father. The father was also given a copy of the Lansdowne curfew ordinance and did sign the curfew violation acknowledgement.
07-02-11 09:55 hours – Sgt. B. Eidell – Theft- under $50 from vehicle
The victim reports a theft from her vehicle. She states the vehicle was locked. Missing from the vehicle area bag containing $20 in change and all vehicle information.
07-03-11 04:14 hours – Ptl. C. Brown – Driving under the influence
N. Lansdowne Ave – This officer while on routine patrol observed a red Ford Taurus failing to stop for a steady red signal At Essex & N. Lansdowne Ave. A vehicle stop was conducted. Upon approaching the offender vehicle a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage could be smelled emanating from the offenders person and he exhibited glassy and bloodshot eyes. The offender failed the field sobriety test. The offender was taken into custody and will be charged appropriately.
07-03-11 08:41 hours – Sgt. B. Eidell – Driving under the influence
Unit block E. Baltimore Ave. -The offender was placed under arrest after she was involved in an accident and registered a .30 BAC on the PBT. The offender was processed and returned to police headquarters awaiting arraignment.
07-03-11 20:20 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Theft- $200 & over-bicycles
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – The victim reports his brown and silver TREK Hybrid bike had been stolen. The victim stated he had a lot of bike accessories attached to it including a front light, bike computer, a black saddle bag rack and red rear light.
