Police activity week of 06-18-12 through 06-24-12
06-17-12 19:28 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Burglary-attempt-residence-day
100 block w. Albemarle Ave. – The victim came to police headquarters because she was concerned. She had heard her neighbor’s home was broken into and felt that someone was trying to break into her home. She discovered three porch window screens lifted up but the windows were locked. No entry gained to home.
06-19-12 12:41 hours – Ptl. S. Nick – Forgery
100 block Owen Ave. – A representative from a local company contacted police about the theft of their business checks. The values of the two checks written and paid out were $455.00 & $420.00. Referred to detective division.
06-18-12 17:35 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – theft- $50 to $200 – from buildings
100 block Owen Ave. – Victim reports unknown actor/s had stolen a 22 foot aluminum extension ladder from the rear of his property.
06-20-12 09:20 hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza – Theft – under $50- auto parts & accessories
200 block w. Greenwood Ave. – the victim reports her PA registration plate had been stolen from her vehicle.
06-20-12 16:51 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan – Burglary-forced entry- residence- day
100 block Owen Ave. – The victim reports his home burglarized. Window believed to be entry point. The victim will submit a list of missing items to police.
06-20-12 13:01 hours – Ptl. C. Craig – Theft- $200 & over
100 block Ardmore Ave. – Job foreman reports that someone cut a lock on an exterior gate of the premises and also cut a lock on a sea container and removed several spools of wiring sometime between 6019-12 & today’s date.
06-20-12 22:14 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan – Drive under Influence
N. Lansdowne & Plumstead Aves. – Offender taken into custody after her involvement in an accident. The offender did fail three field sobriety tests. The offender will be charged appropriately.
06-21-12 18:05 hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza – Theft- $50 to $200 – bicycles
100 block N. Lansdowne Ave. – the victim states his bicycle had been stolen from under the rear porch of this residence. Bike a brown Rampage with orange handlebars that has Lakers on it.
06-22-12 07:24 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – MV theft-other vehicle-street-commercial
100 block Nyack Ave. –The company owner reports that unknown actor/s cut the padlock on his front gate and entered his yard and stole a dark green Ford E450 work truck. Inside the truck were at least three large lawnmowers, seven weed whackers and two blowers along with various other tools and equipment. Estimate of total loss is estimated at $30,000.00. 6-23-12 06:25 – This department was notified by New Britain Township PD that they had recovered the stolen truck. The truck was unoccupied and empty when recovered.
06-22-12 16:05 hours – Ptl. C. Brown –Theft- $200 & over-from building
100 block Ardmore Ave. – Reported missing from a job site on Ardmore Avenue was 4 three quarter inch copper pipe valued at $100.00. Also taken were 10 boxes containing four pieces of prefabricated copper valve piping valued at $2,500.00 per box. The foreman will submit a full list of missing items to police.
06-22-12 21:20 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Harassment
Unit block W. Stratford Ave. – Police received a report of a custody dispute not in progress. Victim was receiving numerous harassing calls from his child’s mother. At a recent hearing the judge cautioned both parties about contacting each other. The offender will receive a citation for harassment via mail.
06-23-12 23:21 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Narcotics-possession-marijuana
S. Wycombe Ave. – Offender was stopped after observed weaving, while riding a bicycle, from one side of street to the other. After several attempts by this officer the offender was finally stopped. The offender was under the influence of alcohol and or a controlled substance as his eyes were glassy, his speech slurred and he was having trouble maintaining his balance. Police recovered three small clear glassine Ziploc bags containing a green vegetable suspected to be marijuana. Offender will be charged appropriately.
06-24-12 15:13 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan – All others-contempt of court
Unit block E. Baltimore Ave. – Police dispatched for a domestic. On arrival determined that the victim had a PFA order against the offender. The offender will be cited for content for violation of the order.
