Police activity week of 06-06-11 through 06-12-11

06-04-11 03:54 – Ptl. C. Brown – Assault-knife or cutting instrument
Unit block E. Plumstead Ave. – Police received a call of a stabbing. On arrival, the witness / offender stated that she had the knife, but was not involved with the stabbing. The offender stated that the victim came home with his injury and that she only has blood on her clothing because she was trying to help him, she denied any knowledge of how the victim was injured. The offender had blood on her hands, clothes and sneakers. A cut viewed on her right hand. She was taken into custody for investigation purposes.


06-04-11 14:00 hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – Theft- $200 & over from buildings
Unit block S. Lansdowne Ave. – The vim reported that his bedroom set had been stolen. The victim stated that he had left several boxes containing the bedroom set in the 1st floor stairwell at approximately 2300 hours on 6-3-11. The victim stated he intended on moving the boxes up to his apartment on today’s date. When the victim arrived on location today he discovered that the boxes were missing. This officer attempted to make contact with several of the 1st floor occupants with negative results. The victim spoke with several people who had seen a woman moving his boxes into the building with a dolly. Make contact with this person / suspect who did have the furniture boxes in her apartment. She stated she just moved them into her apartment so they would not get stolen. The victim wanted to accept the suspect’s explanation of events and did not want the police to treat this as a theft and did not want to press any charges against the suspect.


06-04-11 13:32 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – burglary-forced entry – residence- unknown time.
100 block Blackburn Ave. – The victim’s reported a 17″ Dell Inspiron and charger were taken from their home. Entry was made by forcing open a door. Nothing else seems to be missing from the home. Loss of items $1,000.00


06-04-11 17:32 hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – Burglary-no force-nonresidence – unknown time
100 block Bryn Mawr Ave. – The victim reports her residence had been burglarized. Entry believed to be made through an unlocked window. Several items discovered missing including a digital camera and the victims’ check book.


06-04-11 23:24 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle – burglary-forced entry-residence -day
100 block E. Stewart Ave. – The victim arrived home from work to discover she had been burglarized. Entry was made through a kitchen window. Missing from the residence were the victim’s IPod Touch and jewelry.


06-05-11 03:53 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle – Narcotics-possession
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – Police received a report of keys licked in a vehicle. The vehicle was described as a Chrysler Sebring Convertible. On the scene police located the vehicle and the offender.

In plain view in the door handle of the driver’s side of the vehicle was a pipe, commonly used for smoking marijuana. Between the two front seats of the vehicle was a clear plastic vial with a white cap and an image of a butterfly on it, commonly used for the packaging of illegal drugs. The offender was taken into custody and will be charged appropriately.


06-05-11 20:31 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Theft under $50
100 block Woodland Ave. – The vim reports his bike stolen while visiting his friend’s home. The victim left the bike on the front lawn and when he came out of the house the bike was gone.


06-06-11 11:20 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Theft- under $50 from buildings
100 block e. Plumstead – Property owner discovered the rear door of the residence broken into. The residence is vacant and under construction. Parts of the heating system and six new wooden cabinets were removed from the building.


06-07-11 03:39 hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – Burglary-attempt-residence-night
100 block Bryn Mawr Ave. – The victim stated that she heard loud noises coming from the side of her property. Police observed that the screen to the side window had been pushed up, but the window itself was still closed and locked. No entry gained.


06-07-11 16:53 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Narcotics-possession
Belmont Park – Police received call for drug activity in the park. Taken into custody were three males, all three were cited for possession of drugs and released.


06-07-11 18:59 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Assault-knifed or cutting instrument
200 block N. Wycombe ave. – Female offender taken into custody after assault on former boyfriend in his apartment. Both offender and victim were treated for injuries at the hospital.


06-07-11 21:00 hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza – Theft- $50 to $00-bicycles
Unit block Florence Ave. – the victim reports his Strider red balance bicycle for his child had been stolen from his front porch. The bike was not locked or secured in any fashion to his front porch when it was stolen.


06-08-11 20:11 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – MV theft autos- all other parking lots
Unit block W. Baltimore Ave. – The victim came to LPD headquarters to report that his vehicle was stolen from the Wildman Arms Condos. The victim states he parked his 1998 green Honda Accord at approximately 1930 hours in the east parking lot. When the vim went to get into his vehicle he noticed it was gone. The victim reports he might have left his keys in the vehicle.


06-09-11 18:04 hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – MV theft autos driveway
100 block Green Ave. – A neighbor of the victim reports the victim’s three vehicles stolen from the victims driveway. The victim is in Florida and was contacted. The offenders may be known to the victim’s daughter. 06-10-11 05:12 hours – received a call from Philadelphia Police that that they located the stolen vehicles and arrested the occupants. The victim was notified and was getting on a flight to return to the area to handle the matter.


06-09-11 Ptl. 23:39 hours – Ptl. C. Brown – Harassment
100 block W. Baltimore Ave. -The offender was arrested after a physical domestic dispute with the three victims. The offender was extremely intoxicated. The offender was taken into custody and transported to LPD where he was placed in a cell until he becomes sober enough to release. Citation will be mailed to the offender.


06-10-11 14:44 hours – Ptl. M. Mugler – Theft-under $50 auto parts & accessories
100 block E. Baltimore Ave. – Police dispatched to Treen & Byrne Auto sales for report of a stolen PA tag.


06-11-11 03:32 hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – Burglary-attempt-residence-night
100 block Bryn Mawr Ave. – The victim stated she heard her residential burglar alarm sounding and immediately contacted the alarm company. The victim discovered the screen to the rear kitchen window had been pushed up. Access was not gained due to the window being locked. This is the third incident involving this residence since 6-4-11.


06-11-11 11:31 hours – Ptl. M. Mugler – Burglary-forced entry-residence- unknown time
Unit block Violet Ln. – The victim’s report their home was entered overnight and cash was taken from their wallets. Entry was through a screened window in the dining. Exit was made through the back door. The victim’s was advised to keep all their windows locked in the future and to contact police in the event that they discover anything else missing.


06-11-11 17:15 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Theft- $50 to $200 – all other
Unit block E. Greenwood Ave. – The victim states his leaf blower was stolen from out front of his residence. He was doing yard work when he walked away from the blower for approximately 6 minutes and then discovered it was stolen. Red Toro Ultra electric blower vac valued at approximately $120.00.


06-11-11 18:29 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan – Burglary-no force-residence-day
100 block E. Greenwood Ave. – The victim’s left their residence to walk their dog. They returned 20 minutes later to find her PA driver’s license, $100 cash, one Verizon wireless Motorola android cell phone and one Verizon wireless HTC android cell phone were missing from the front enclosed porch. The victim’s left their front porch door unlocked.


06-12-11 07:56 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Drive under influence-drugs-impaired
100 block S. Lansdowne Ave. – The witness observed a green Subaru hit two parked vehicles in the front of apartments on s. Lansdowne Avenue. The driver of the striking vehicle made no attempt to stop. The witness did follow the Subaru until the striking vehicle pulled into Penn Pines parking lot and made contact with police. The offender was found in possession of drugs along with an open container of beer in center console of vehicle. The offender was taken into custody and will be charged appropriately.
