Police activity week of 05-23-11 through 05-31-11

05-23-11 22:45 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Narcotics-possession
W. Baltimore Ave. – The offender was arrested, after a brief struggle, for possession of narcotics. The offender also has two outstanding bench warrants for his arrest out of Delaware County.

05-24-11 08:50 hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – Disorderly conduct
100 block Green Ave. (PWHS) – Police received a call for a disorderly subject in the principal’s office of PWHS. The offender created a disturbance when he was told he was not allowed to wear a hat or use his cell phone while on school property. The offender was returned to police headquarters and issued a citation.

05-24-11 10:12 hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza – Theft- $50 to $200 from buildings
Unit block E. Plumstead Ave. – The victim reports that on two separate occasions she has had two packages stolen that had been delivered to her address. . The victim believes that it is someone one in her apartment building as one package, delivered by UPS, and was handed to a female from inside the apartment building. Value of loss $190.00.

05-26-11 10:30 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Criminal mischief to auto
100 block W. Albemarle Ave. -The victim reported that approximately one month ago someone scratched the word “Bitch” onto the vehicle, black Ford 150. The victim reported he suspects a woman he had an affair with and then broke the affair off. This officer advised that I would document his report.

05-26-11 18:48 hours – Ptl. C. Brown – Criminal mischief
100 block Mansfield Ave. – The victim stated that unknown actor spray painted her rear fence.

05-27-11 03:05 hours – Ptl. C. Craig – Theft-$50 to $200 from auto
200 block N. Highland Ave. – this officer spoke with the vehicle owner/victim who reports that while he was sleeping, he heard his dog barking. The victim states he looked out the window and observed white male removing items from his trunk and leaving area. Police checked area with negative results. The victim will provide police with a list of missing items. The vehicle was unlocked at time of theft.

05-27-11 11:43 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Drugs-sale/mfg- other dangerous non narcotic
100 block Green Ave. (PWHS) – Dispatched to the high school for a report of a student in custody, in the office for drug violations. Once out this officer spoke with Assistant Principal Seth Brunner who related to me that the student was found in possession of a quantity of suspected marijuana. The offender was taken into custody and will be charged appropriately.

05-28-11 02:02 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Public drunkenness
Unit block E. Baltimore Ave. – While on routine patrol observed the offender walking with a staggering gait out front of the Rite Aid Store. As this officer approached the offender I could detect a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his person. This officer had to hold the offender up to keep him from falling. The offender was placed into police custody. The offender was housed, cited and released.

05-28-11 06:30 hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – Theft- $200 & over from auto
Unit block S. Union. – Police received report of a theft from auto. On police arrival the reporting party stated her boyfriend’s GPS was stolen from his vehicle sometime between 2200 hours 5/27/11 & 0600 hours 5/28/11. The GPS was on the windshield and the vehicle was parked in the driveway. The reporting party was unsure if the vehicle was locked.

05-31-11 22:21 hours – Ptl. C. Brown – Theft- $200 & over from buildings
Unit block s. Wycombe Ave. – Police received a call of a stolen firearm. On arrival, the victim stated that he last viewed his silver revolver on 5-29-11 at approximately 2000 hours. The victim stated that his friends were the only visitors at his apartment between 5-29-11 and today.
