Police activity week of 05-19-14 through 05-25-14

05-19-14 12:05 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan – Theft- $200 & over- bicycles
200 block N. Lansdowne Ave. – Received a phone call from the victim reporting
heft of bicycles. Two bikes were under the awning of his garage. The first bike,
an unknown brand, light gray, mountain bike was locked to the post, The second
bike a white and purple, Mongoose, girls smaller frame mountain bike was next to
the gray bike, but not locked. Value of both approximately $500.00.

05-20-14 12:00 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan – Theft $50 to $200 from auto
100 block W. Albemarle – Police were dispatched for found property. Made contact with the reporting party, who found property in the rear of her apartment building. Located the victim of the property who stated her car was entered and her purse was taken from her vehicle. All of the victim’s property was recovered.

05-20-14 13:48 hours – Ptl. l. Albertoli – Theft- $50 to $200 – bicycles
Unit block Scottdale Rd. – On arrival the victim’s reports that sometime between dinner time on Sunday, May 11 and the morning of Tuesday, May 13, unknown actors entered his unlocked back yard and removed a bike he had rebuilt for his granddaughter.The bike is a white, 20 inch Mongoose trick bike with black lettering and pinstriping. The bike no longer had the trick bike system. Estimated value ofthe bike is $50.00.

05-20-1417:02 hours – Ptl. P. Young – Burglary – no force – residence -day
200 block Scottdale Rd. – The victim’s report their home gone through. Taken from the master bedroom were jewelry boxes. There was nothing else reported missing or disturbed. There are two unlocked doors on the first floor. A property list will be submitted from the victim’s when complete.

05-20-1421:12 hours – Ptl. P. Young – Robbery-armed-firearm
Nyack & S. Wycombe Aves. – Police responded to Nyack & Elberon Avenues for
the report of an armed robbery that had just occurred with a firearm. Made
contact with the victim and the area was check for the actors with negative
results. Taken from the victim was a cell phone he had in his possession.

05-21-1404:06 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Theft-attempted
36 E. Stewart Ave. – While on patrol, writer did observe two adult males loitering and prowling at night time in the area of N. Wycombe & E. Stewart Aves. After observing one of the actors enter private driveways of several properties, while the other acted as a lookout, police stopped them for investigation. As a result of the investigation the subjects were arrested for attempted theft of an air conditioning unit. Both subjects had active warrants for their arrest.

05-21-1406:46 hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – Theft- $200 & over from building
100 block E. Stewart Ave. – On arrival the victims reports the coil removed from the Bryant air conditioning unit that is on the side of his residence.

5-21-14 13:55 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle – Drive under the influence
E. Plumstead & Congress Aves. – As a result of a traffic stop one person arrestedn for DUI. The offender admitted to taking five Xanax.

05-23-14 10:56 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan – Theft- $50 to $200
Unit block Willowbrook Ave. -On arvictim states he discovered his frame,fiberglass ladder was stolen. The ladder was on the back deck. Value of the ladder was $100.00.

05-23-1418:10 hours – Ptl. P. Young – Public drunkenness
Scottdale Rd & W. Baltimore Ave. – Police were dispatched for a disabled vehicle in the roadway. Located a black Nissan Sentra parked, without flashers, in the turning lane of Scottdale Rd. The owner of the vehicle was located in the parking lot of K-Mart. The offender was intoxicated and cited for public drunkenness, the vehicle was towed.

05-23-1422:54 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Theft- $200 & over bicycles
Unit block W. Baltimore Ave. – The victim reports that she left her Apple iphone 5 in the bathroom of the Bottom Dollar. She boarded the Septa train to go home and realized she left her phone. Bottom Dollar stated the phone was not returned. This officer will attempt to get the video surveillance tapes to see whoentered the bathroom.

05-25-1400:51 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Theft- $50 to $200 from auto
Unit block E. Stewart Ave. – Reporting party stated he saw a black male inside hisneighbor’s vehicle, then get out and get into another neighbors vehicle. The RP myelled at the male. The male took off running. The reporting party did pursue the actor but lost him. Made contact with the vehicle owner who stated her vehicle was unlocked and $10 in coins and a Garmin GPS were taken from the vehicle
