Police activity week of 05-06-13 through 05-12-13

05-06-13 03:09 hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza -Theft- under $50- retail theft
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – Police were dispatched for a report of a retail theft that just occurred. While enroute DELCOM provided the following description of the actor; a black male, wearing a blue coat, as wearing scrubs and carrying a Trader Joe’s bag. While checking the area the offender was located. The offender was positively identified by the witness. The offender was taken into custody and cited for retail theft and disorderly conduct.

05-06-13 08:11 hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – MV theft-autos
Unit block Windermere Ave. – The victim reports his 09 Hyundai Sonata was stolen from the apartment complex parking lot. The victim believes he either left his keys on the front steps of the apartment complex or in the key hole of his apartment door. The vehicle was recovered in Philadelphia.

05-06-13 11:47 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan – Assaults
Unit block Eldon Ave. p Police dispatched for a report of a domestic dispute involving a male and a female. Witness observed a male hitting a female and pointed to two males standing in front of a residence. Made contact with the offender, who was informed of the call. This officer also made contact with the victim who had an abrasion on top of her left eye, that was beginning to swell and a small cut on her bottom lip. The offender was taken into custody, processed and housed at LPD to await arraignment.

05-07-13 11:32 hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – Disorderly conduct
Unit block E. Baltimore Ave. – Police responded for report of a disorderly subject. DELCOM advised that the subject was standing by the Pharmacy section for the past 15 minutes just staring at the customers. On arrival advised by the complainant the subject refused to respond to them and was scaring customers.

This officer observed the subject open the front door of the store nearly striking a passing pedestrian. At this point the subject was placed in custody and returned to LPD where h seas issued a citation.

It should be noted throughout the whole incident the subject refused to speak. Did contact the subject’s mother, who advised that her son suffers from mental illness, but did not feel that he needed to be committed. A knife was confiscated by police from the subject.

05-08-13 20:36 hours – Ptl. C. Craig – Sex offenses-indecent exposure
E. Essex & Wayne Aves. – Responded for a report of an indecent act that had occurred approximately ten minutes prior. Witness reports waling her two dogs when she stopped to pick up her dogs droppings. She heard someone behind her and noticed there was a black male juvenile standing there. The witness continued walking and reports when she approached Wayne Avenue she observed the male behind her again. The male asked her “do you think this is big?” She turned around toward the male and said excuse me! At this time she realized that he had exposed himself to her. She advised the male if he came any closer she would let her dogs go on him. The male left the scene. Male described at a black male juvenile, 14-16 years of age, thin build, thin face, approximately 5’8″, last seen wearing a grey hoodie and jeans. Checked area with negative results.

05-09-13 10:30 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Forgery
100 block N. Lansdowne Ave. – The victim and her husband report checks stolen from her home. The couple suspect an acquaintance of the husband took the checks. Two checks had been cashed. The victim did have the bank put a stop payment on all of the other missing checks. This case will be referred to the Detective division.

05-09-13 13:48 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan – Theft- $200 & over
100 block Ardmore Ave. – On arrival the reporting party states that sometime between 05-08-13 at 1400 hours and today’s date approximately 1245 hours a 40 foot length of copper wire had been stolen. The RP states there were two males in the building not familiar to anyone on the job site. He reports they were wearing blue collared shirts and blue jeans. Estimated loss is $2,000.00.

05-09-13 13:45 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Criminal mischief
100 block Drexel Ave. – the complainant reports someone had written on her daughters white fence. This officer observed the word “SHADE” which appeared to be written in black magic marker.

05-09-13 18:17 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan – Public drunkenness
S. Union & Austin Aves. – Dispatched for a fight. On arrival observed two groups of males walking away from the area. While speaking to the a subject this officer observed that the subject displayed glassy blood shot eyes and I would smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on the subjects person and breath. The subject was taken into custody for public drunkenness.

05-11-13 02:45 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Disorderly conduct
Madison Rd. – While on patrol discovered an occupied vehicle parking in back of Gladstone Train Station that was not there earlier in the shift. Being familiar with the train schedule this officer was aware there were no train arrivals for about four hours. Located three persons in the vehicle, they were in possession of an open container of Bud Light Lime Margarita. This officer also detected a faint smell of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A check of the driver revealed a warrant out of Chester County. The other occupants were checked for warrants with negative findings. All were taken into custody. All were issued citations for Disorderly Conduct. The one offender was held for Chester county constables and the other two were released.

05-11-13 12:50 hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – Theft- $50 to $200 bicycles.
Unit block Schappet Ter. – Dispatched for a theft of bicycle that had just occurred. The victim reported a brand new red and black Huffy 20 inch bike with Rock It markings was stolen from the front porch by two black males approximately 13 years old, one in a red hoodie and one in a green hoodie. The area was checked no suspects were located.

05-11-13 21:02 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Disorderly conduct
Unit block S. Lansdowne Ave. – Dispatched for a male vs. female domestic, weapon unknown. Called in by the offender. Both parties were reported to be drunk. On arrival the offender was clearly under the influence of at least alcohol. Officers were able to separate the parties. The offender was advised of the situation and was not happy. The offender began to loudly tell police we better have a “fu-ing good reason” if he was arrested. We got the offender to return to his apartment. Before police could leave the area the offender was yelling profane language out the window of the apartment the offender refused to cease this behavior and was taken into custody. The offender was charged with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness and will be held until he is sober enough to release.

05-11-13 23:51 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Public drunkenness
Unit block Bartram Ave. – Initially dispatched to see the woman for an assault that occurred earlier at a party at the residence. Additional information indicated that a third party intervened and was now leaving the party. After reviewing the information presented at the scene, no charges were filed for assault at this time. The reporting victim was referred to the district coat for a private complaint. Due to intoxication and refusal to cooperate with officer, the reporting party was arrested held until sober and relaxed with citations.

05-12 13 13:29 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan – Theft- $200 & over
Unit block McKinley Ave. – The victim reports his 14 ft aluminum canoe was taken from his yard. The 14 ft 1976 Grumman Aluminum canoe is valued at $350.00
