Police activity week of 05-02-11 through 05-08-11
05-02-11 00:00 hours – Ptl. C. Craig – Burglary-non force-nonresidence-unknown time
100 block Berkley ave. -The victim reports sometime between 4-20-11 and today’s date someone had entered the business and removed $30.00 from a lock box located inside a filing cabinet. No signs of forced entry were found.
05-03-11 08:05 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Assaults
100 block Green ave. (PWHS) – Dispatched to the PWHS for a report of two disorderly female s who were involved in a fight. The Assistant Principal advised this officer two females were being detained in the office after they assaulted another student. Both students were suspended for 5 days. The school requested the offenders be charged with simple assault and related offenses. The offenders were transported to LPD. Both females were charged and processed and turned over to their mother.
05-03-11 10:13 hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – Theft- $50 to $200 from buildings
200 block Glentay Ave. -The victim reported she noticed money missing from her bank account. The victim obtained copies of her checks and realized her daughter did make out a check and forged the victim’s signature on the check. A warrant will be issued for the offender.
05-03-11 17:15 hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – Theft-$50 to $200 from auto
Unit block Drexel Ave. -The victim reported at about 13:30 hours today she parked her car and was speaking to her neighbor before going shopping. While shopping the victim tried to pay for merchandise and realized her wallet was missing from her purse. The victim indicated that the only time her purse was out of her sight was when the vehicle was pared on Drexel Avenue. A neighbor did contact the victim stating she found her wallet on a lawn on Windermere Avenue. At the time of this report there was $30 in cash and two ATM cards missing.
05-03-11 18:45 hours – Ptl. C. Craig – Theft $200 & over from autos
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – The victim states that while at Wawa someone entered her vehicle and removed her T-Mobile My Touch cell phone. Investigation to continue
05-04-11 02:11 hours – Ptl. C. Brown – Assaults
100 block e. Baltimore Ave. – Police were dispatched for a report of a large fight. As police arrived on the scene a witness advised a silver vehicle that was driving away from the area, at a high rate of speed, was involved in the fight. After a pursuit into Darby, the offender was stopped by Darby Officers and was taken into LPD custody.
05-04-11 10:23 hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – Burglary-attempt-residence-unknown time
100 block Owen Ave. – The victim stated that someone had attempted to gain access inside her residence through a rear kitchen window. No entry gained
05-06-11 09:46 hours – Ptl. C. Craig – Burglary-attempt-residence-unknown time
100 block Windermere Ave. – On police arrival the reporting party states he observed the front door of the residence partially open and it appeared to be kicked in. The back door seemed to be tampered with as well. No entry gained.
05-07-11 23:11 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle – Narcotics-sale-morphine, heroin, codeine
Belmont Park – Police were dispatched to the area of Belmont park for a child screaming for help. Upon arrival this officer observed the offender. The offender’s pupils were dialated, his speech was slurred and he was extremely unsteady on his feet. A strong odor of a chemical substance could be smelled emanating from his person & breath. A search incident to arrest led to two heavy moist cigarettes wrapped in aluminum foil suspected to be PCP. The offender was in the company of a female offender and a child. Both offenders were placed in custody and the child was released to a relative of the female offender.
05-08-11 01:06 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Public Drunkenness
Drexel & Mansfield Aves. – Received report of an intoxicated female stumbling all over. Located the offender, who was highly intoxicated. The offender was taken into custody and housed in cell #2 for the evening.
