Police activity week of 04/30/12 through 05/06/12

04-30-12 14:30 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Disorderly conduct
N. Maple & E. Essex Aves. – Police dispatched for three male juveniles chasing one male through the area. A group of males was observed running in and out of the road way, chasing each other onto nearby residence properties and fake fighting. The males were advised they are not to play in the roadway or on other people’s property and if they continued they would be arrested. After making comments to police one male became hostile and angry as he walked away in an aggressive manner.

This male was again observed and he yelled an obscene statement at police. He was taken into custody cited for disorderly conduct and release to his mother.


04-30-12 15:18 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Burglary-forced entry-residence- day
Unit block S. Wycombe Ave. – Police dispatched for report of a burglary discovered. Victim reports that arriving home she found the rear door to her apartment open. The door had been forced. Missing from the apartment was a black 52″ Samsung flat screen HD TV, black X-Box 360 and black X-Box Connect box and a black Dell desktop computer along with a Microsoft monitor. Several other items were also reported missing.


05-02-12 11:08 hours – Ptl S. Nick, Jr – Public Drunkenness & Disorderly conduct
E. Essex & N. Lansdowne Aves. – Dispatched to investigate reports of an intoxicated subject. On arrival this officer observed the offender stumbling unsteadily down the sidewalk. Initiated a pedestrian stop to investigate. The offender had a very strong odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from his person and confirmed having been drinking. The offender was taken into custody cited and released in the care of a friend.


05-02-12 07:30 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Disorderly conduct
100 block Green Ave. PWHS – Responded to the high school for a student threatening another student. On arrival the offender was in custody of the security staff. The offender refused to cooperate and was not answer questions and was yelling. The offender was taken into police custody and returned to police headquarters. The offender will be charged appropriately.


05-02-12 15:56 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Disorderly conduct
W. Baltimore Ave & Martin Dr. – Police responded for a fight on a SEPTA bus. Fight ensued when one passenger (the offender) was talking loudly and using profanity while on her cell phone. Another passenger requested she not use profanity around her 11 year old daughter. The offender took offense at the request and a physical confrontation ensued. The offender was removed from the bus, returned to headquarters and charged with disorderly conduct.


05-04-12 23:15 hours – Ptl. C. Craig – Public drunkenness
W. Baltimore Ave. & Scottdale Rd. – Offender was observed staggering westbound on Baltimore Avenue. The offender was stopped and cited for public drunkenness.


05-05-12 02:26 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle – Driving under the influence
S. Lansdowne & Nyack Aves. – The offender was arrested for DUI and charges related to a vehicle accident.


05-06-12 01:23 hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza – Murder-firearm
200 block N. Maple Ave. – Police were dispatched for a report of shots fired and a report of a vehicle into a garage. Upon arrival a vehicle that was on fire was located and the body of the deceased victim was observed in the left front operator seat of the vehicle. Investigation to continue.


05-06-12 00:30 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle – Driving under the influence
E. Baltimore & N. Lansdowne Aves. – The offender was arrested for DUI as a result of a vehicle stop. The offender was processed and released.


05-06-12 09:55 hours – Ptl. S. Nick – MV theft-other
100 block McKinley Ave. – The victim stated that sometime overnight his ATV and dirt bike were stolen from his back yard.


05-06-12 16:28 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Burglary-forced-entry-residence-unknown time
200 block N. Wycombe Ave. – Victim reports items missing from his apartment. A computer and monitor and a Verizon cable box. Victim is in the process of being evicted from the residence.


05-06-12 18:55 hours – Sgt. B. Eidell – Theft- $200 & over from buildings
Unit block E. Stratford Ave. – The victim states several items are missing from his office. Missing are a laptop computer and two speakers.
