Police activity week of 04-24-12 through 04-29-12

04-24-12 19:11 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Theft- $50 to $200 – from buildings
100 block Owen Ave. – Dispatched to see the man for a theft discovered. Victim reports several items taken from his property. He suspects a person who was working with him on the property. Investigation to continue.


04-25-12 13:40 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle – Theft- attempt-from auto
200 block Green Ave. – The victim came to police headquarters to report the attempted theft of his vehicle. While leaving for work this morning, sometime between 2am and 3am, the victim was loading his lunch in the car. He was startled when a white male open his car door. The victim yelled at the actor and the actor ran to a nearby porch. The victim knows an elderly couple lives there and yelled at the actor to “Get out of here or I’m calling the police”. The actor then left the area.


04-25-12 22:13 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – All other vandalism
22 block W. Albemarle Ave. – The property owner reports a glass storm door was observed shattered along with three windows on the side of the house. Windows valued at approximately $500.00.


04-27-12 15:13 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Theft-attempted-retail theft
100 block E. Baltimore Ave. – Dispatched to CVS for a shoplifter-not in custody. On arrival observed a female leaving the store who matched the description of the shoplifter. The manager advised that the actor was observed stuffing merchandise into her purse. The actor noticed the staff watching her and went to a nearby isle and left the items that she had taken. This officer attempted to locate the woman without success. Since all items were recovered and the manager was satisfied this officer cleared the incident.


04-29-12 06:25 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Theft – $50 to $200
100 block Eldon Ave. – The victim called to report that unknown person/s did steal six Garden Gnome lawn ornaments from his front lawn sometime overnight. The victim also reported that this is an ongoing problem in his neighborhood and that two weeks ago a ligh up star ornament was stolen from his lawn. The victim stated his neighbor does have a surveillance camera set up on his property that may have captured the actor/s going to or leaving the property after the crime. The victim will speak to the neighbor to see if anything was recorded. Total loss approximately $150.00.


04-29-12 18:14 hours – Plt. J. McGowan – Harassment
100 block Mansfield Ave. – Continuing neighbor dispute. This time in reference to the victim/offender’s dog on the victim/offenders property. A shoving match ensued between the two parties. Both parties will be cited for harassment and receive citations in the mail.
