Police activity week of 04-02-12 through 04-08-12

04-02-12 14:18 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Disorderly conduct
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – Dispatched to the Dollar Tree for a report of a theft that had just occurred. All offenders were apprehended and merchandise recovered. After speaking with the management at Dollar Tree it was decided to cite the offenders with disorderly conduct due to the small amount of merchandise involved and because the offenders were juveniles.

04-02-12 16:24 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Assaults- simple
100 block Green Ave. -PWHS – Dispatched to PWHS near the basketball court, for an assault that just occurred. This officer made contact with the victim’s. They stated they were attacked by a group of males while trying to leave the basketball court. All offenders taken into custody. All will be charged appropriately.

04-04-12 16:00 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Theft-under $50 from buildings
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – The victim came to police headquarters reporting her wallet was taken while she was at PNC bank. She withdrew money, believes she laid her wallet on a chair, and then left the bank without wallet. She went back to the bank and it was gone. She did cancel her credit cards.

04-06-12 18:31 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan – Stolen property-possessing-motor vehicle
Unit block W. Stratford Ave. – While on patrol observed a vehicle cross the double yellow line and enter the opposing lane of traffic on a turn. This officer did run the registration and discovered it was on a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was stopped. The driver and the passenger were taken into custody. Both driver and passenger also were in possession of drugs. Both will be charged appropriately.

04-06-12 21:02 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle – Assault-firearm
100 block Blackburn Ave. – Police from Lansdowne, East Lansdowne, Upper Darby, Clifton Heights, Yeadon and Darby borough responded to Wabash Avenue and Blackburn Avenue for shots fired. On arrival a twenty year old man was found to be shot in the left leg. The victim stated he didn’t see who shot him. Spoke to three adults who were also in the house and all stated they didn’t see and had no idea who is involved in the shooting. The victim was transported to the hospital. At 23:00 hours security staff at the hospital advised this officer that the victim was being released. Investigation to continue.

04-07-12 15:58 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan – Criminal mischief to automobiles
Unit block N. Union Ave. – The victim showed police that the driver’s door window had been broken out.

04-08-12 03:30 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle- Robbery-armed – other weapon- residence
200 block N. Wycombe Ave. – Police were dispatched for a burglary in progress and the resident was struggling with the actor. On arrival the actor had broken free from the resident/victim and fled south on Wycombe Ave. The actor/offender was apprehended by East Lansdowne Officer J. Morozin. The victim stated to police that he was awakened by the sound of the offender breaking down his door. After a struggle with the offender the offender fled the residence. Investigation to continue.

04-08-12 16:47 hours – Sgt. B. Eidell – Theft- $50 to $200- bicycles
Nyack Ave. – Hayes Playground – The victim states her daughter rode her new bike to Hayes Playground. After playing with some friend her brother went to get the bike and it was missing. Bike Is a girls Huffy, white with pink specs, handbrakes and silver pegs at the front and rear. Value of bike is $100.00. Received a call from the victim to report her daughter found the bike hidden in a yard between Interboro Park and Bartram Avenue.
