Police activity week of 04-01-13 through 04-07-13

04-01-13 12:57 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Disorderly conduct
100 block Green Ave. (PWHS) – Dispatched to PWHS for a student with marijuana. Student in custody in Principals office. Marijuana discovered in offender’s school bag. The offender will be charged with disorderly conduct.

04-03-13 06:15 hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza – Theft $50 to $200
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – Store manager at Wawa reports a theft of three cartons of cigarettes from behind the counter. Value of items $188.97. The store will provide a copy of the digital video surveillance.

04-03-13 21L45 hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – Burglary-forced entry-residence-unknown time
100 block E. Essex Ave. – The victim reported upon returning from work he discovered the rear door to the basement was kicked in. The victim stated nothing appears to be missing.

04-03-13 21:34 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Harassment
Unit block w. Albemarle Ave. – Police dispatched for another domestic at this residence approximately twenty minutes after the first call for a domestic. The victim was the caller and was reporting another domestic, stating the female had a knife. The offender denied the threats. The offender was taken into custody for harassment and held overnight due to her state of intoxication.

04-04-13 09:14 hours – Ptl. C. Brown – Theft- $200 & over from buildings
200 block E. Essex Ave. – the reporting party stated that unknown actor/s entered the property and removed copper piping from the basement. The basement door was unlocked and ajar when he arrived at the property. At least 12 feet of copper was taken. Other copper piping in the basement was damaged in the attempt to remove same. The reporting party was last at the residence the week of 3-18-13 and nothing missing at that time. When he left the residence was secure.

04-04-13 23:58 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Public drunkenness
200 block N. Wycombe Ave. – While on patrol a male was observed urinating on the north side of the building. This officer approached the male who continued to urinate on the building and when asked why he stated, “Man I live here, I have a contract, I pay rent, why are you harassing me?” The offender had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. The offender was taken into custody where he was issued a citation for public drunkenness and housed overnight until he sobered up.

04-05-13 08:50 – Sgt. B. Eidell – Theft-under $50 from auto
100 block Berkley Ave. – The victim called 419- to report the theft of a bottle of prescription pills from the center console of his vehicle. The victim stated he went out Thursday evening between 21:20 and 21:25 hours and started his vehicle and left the engine running with the doors unlocked. He stated he was only gone about five minutes. The victim was prescribed the medication for a recent surgery and had only taken one pill. He stated that he does not want to replace the pills since he does not like using them. He did call the pharmacy to report the theft because there is one refill on the bottle.
