Police activity week of 03-31-14 through 04-06-14

03-31-14 18:00 hours – Sgt. K. Rutherford – Theft- $200 & over
200 block N. Lansdowne Ave. – During an investigation it was discovered that the offender had taken several items of jewelry from the victim’s home. This is an ongoing investigation.


04-01-1404:21 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle – Burglary – no force – residence – night
Unit block S. Wycombe Ave. – Police responded for a burglary. On arrival the victim reported that his unlocked vehicle was entered and the actor also entered his home through the basement door. Nothing appears to be missing from the basement. The victim states his wallet, containing his bank card, was taken from his vehicle.


04-01-1409:20 hours – Sgt. B. Eidell – Theft- $200 & over from auto
200 block W. Marshall Rd. – The victim stopped at 4190 to report that an unknown actor(s) entered his unlocked Dodge Ram truck sometime overnight and stole his XM Satellite Radio and a Nokia cell phone from the vehicle.


04-01-1408:13 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Theft- Attempted – from auto
100 block Drexel Ave. – The victim reported that last night someone rifled through her vehicle. According to the victim the only thing taken from her vehicle were old registration and insurance cards.


04-01-14 13:53 hours – Sgt. B. Eidell- All other- threats
100 block Green Ave. – PWHS – Police responded to PWHS for a disorderly student in the Assistant Principal’s office. Spoke to the victim, who stated that, the offender, while on in school suspension, did curse at and threaten him. The victim is a teacher at the school. The offender will be cited for this offense.


04-01-1408:25 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Theft – attempted – from auto
200 block Drexel Ave. – The victim reports her unlocked vehicle was entered. The vehicle was rummaged through, but nothing was stolen.


04-02-1422:45 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Disorderly conduct
100 block Owen Ave. – The offender was cited for disorderly conduct after setting a M80 firework off on the side of his residence. This caused alarm to his neighbors and the Lansdowne Fire Company did respond to the scene.


04-03-1410:19 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Theft. $200 & over from auto
Unit block Bryn Mawr Ave. – The victim reports that his vehicle was entered and rifled through overnight. Missing from the vehicle was a gray Apple I Pod Classic 160 GB model, a Hohnner “C” harmonica and about $5.00 in US quarters. The victim believes his vehicle was locked and alarmed. He did not hear his alarm go off during the evening.


04-03-1408:40 hours – Ptl. P. Young – Theft. $200 & over from auto
Unit block W. Greenwood Ave. -The victim reports his vehicle entered and a Garmin GPS and a Paradigm 9930 insulin pump were missing from the vehicle. The victim believes he secured his vehicle, but stated that the passenger side rear door may have locking problems. There was no damage found to the vehicle.


04-03-1409:50 hours – Ptl. C. Brown – Theft. $50 to $200 from auto
Unit block Bryn Mawr Ave. – The victim reports her secured vehicle was entered overnight. A GPS unit with attached power cord, PA driver’s license, A chase Freedom Visa credit card and $15.00 in case was discovered missing. No damage noted to the vehicle.


04-03-14 15:15 hours – Ptl. C. Brown – Criminal mischief to auto
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – The victim reports that his vehicle was damaged while located in the parking lot of the auto repair shop. The driver’s side door lock and driver’s side window are damaged.


04-04-1404:35 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Disorderly conduct
Unit block Rose Ln. – While on patrol observed a white Ford Focus with interior light on. Due to recent thefts from vehicles, this officer exited his vehicle to check the situation. Did observe two people inside of the vehicle and immediately detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana. One person was cited for disorderly conduct for possession of a small amount of marijuana, the other person was issued a warning.


04-04-14 11:22 hours – Ptl. Tina Selimis – Assaults
Unit block S. Maple Ave. – Police were dispatched for a black male assaulting an older white male. On arrival the males were not in the area. The complainant stated a black male was beating up a mentally challenged male that lived at the corner house down the street. The complainant pointed to the house and stated the male was pulled back into that house by his girlfriend and the girlfriend’s mother. Police located the offender and placed him into custody.


04-05-14 11:01 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Burglary-attempt-residence-unknown

Unit block N. Maple Ave. – The victim reported that he observed that the exterior deadbolt lock on his side door of his home was damaged. The officer did observe the deadbolt lock was damaged. No entrance was believed to be made into the property, and the victim did not report anything missing from the home.


04-05-14 15:15 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Drug equipment violations
Unit block E. Baltimore Ave. – Police were dispatched for a white male in the rear of the Rite Aid using drugs. The male had purchased syringes in the store and tried to use them in the bathroom, but was denied access. The offender was located and placed into custody.


04-05-14 14:59 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Burglary-attempt-nonresidence-unk

100 block N. Lansdowne Ave. – The victim reports that someone tried to break into her home through her basement door. The exterior door handle was broken off. No entrance was made into the home and the victim did not report anything missing. Basement door was last known secured in February.


04-05-14 19:01 hours – Sgt. B. Eidell- Theft – $200 & over from auto
200 block W. Albemarle Ave. – The victim noticed that her car doors were unlocked and she normally locks her doors at night. She also noticed items from her glove compartment on her passenger seat. She discovered missing items as she was on her way to work, but did not make a police report until she returned home after work. The car had no sign of damage so the victim thought she might have left the doors unlocked.
