Police activity week of 03-26-12 through 4-1-12

03-25-12 Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Disorderly conduct
Unit block W. Baltimore Ave. – The building manager called police to report a possible theft of a package that occurred over the weekend. On the surveillance tape you can see the offender enter the mail room and open the package. He examines the contents and then leaves the mail room. It is unclear if the offender takes anything from the box prior to him leaving the mail. Investigation to continue.


03-26-12 13:56 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Robbery-armed- other weapon-chain store
Unit block E. Baltimore Ave. – Dispatched to the Rite Aid for a robbery. The actor threatened the pharmacist with a brick. The actor may have fled in a silver vehicle. Police from several jurisdictions checked the area with negative results. The staff explained the actor demanded all the Oxycodone in the store or he would hit someone with a brick. The actor appeared to have bricks in his pockets. The pharmacist got two bottles of the drug and gave them to the actor. The actor then fled toward the front of the store. Sgt. Donegan worked with the store staff to review the video and obtain copies. Investigation to continue.


03-26-12 18:35 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Robbery-armed- other weapon-chain store
100 block E. Baltimore Ave. – Police received report of threats that had just occurred at the CVS store. Initial reports were that a store employee was threatened with a rock if she did not relinquish Oxycodone. The offender was holding a large rock and kept on yelling to hurry up. Another worker behind the pharmacy did throw three bottles of Ibuprofen to the offender who fled the store. Copies of the video footage were given to Det. Sgt. Donegan. Police checked area with negative results.


03-27-12 09:20 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – All other offenses-false police report
100 block Midway Ave. – Police dispatched for report of a domestic with a weapon. On arrival there was no answer at the door of the residence and no signs of a problem. Did contact the home owner and she advised there was no problem at this time. While on scene the offender approached Officer McGowan. This offender is known to this officer and has created problems with the making of false reports to police. This is the case in this instance. The offender was taken into custody and will be charged appropriately.


03-29-12 08:50 hours – Ptl. C. Craig – Drug equipment violations
100 block N. Highland Ave. – While on patrol this officer observed a white male who was carrying an object and a white female walk from behind PWHS and start walking south on N. Highland Avenue. Due to the early hour I conducted a pedestrian stop believing they were students walking away from school. The male was carrying a large amount of copper pipe. He stated it had been in his basement. Both offenders were asked if they had anything on them they shouldn’t and both stated they had hypodermic needles on their person and several empty bags of heroin. They were returned to police headquarters and processed and will be charged appropriately.


04-01-12 17:58 hours – Ptl. C. Brown – Disorderly conduct-public places
100 block E. Plumstead Ave. – Received call of public urination. The offender will be mailed a citation.
