Police activity week of 03-25-13 through 03-31-13

03-25-13 09:52 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Criminal mischief to public buildings
Unit block S. Lansdowne Ave. – The director of the Lansdowne Public Library reports that on Saturday 3-23-13 at 2034 hours a female known to her poured a bottle of olive oil into the overnight book deposit container just outside of the front door of the building. The Director checked the security camera footage from the weekend. The offender is clearly seen walking from the parking lot and pouring bottles contents into the drop area. She is also clearly seen dripping the bottle into the box when she is done pouring.

The offender is a former employee who has been disgruntled since being fired a year ago. There was another incident of vandalism to the drop box when someone had left rotted Salmon steaks inside the box. In that incident the whole box needed to be replaced at a cost of $4,998.00. The Director provided this officer with an itemized list of damaged property. This investigation will continue.


03-25-13 14:10 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Robbery-strong arm-bank
Unit block W. Baltimore Ave. – Responded to the bank for a robbery, that had just occurred. On arrival the actor had left the building. The actor handed the teller a note which read, “Empty the draw! Don’t want to hurt!, all large bills!, Stay calm!” Loss amount exceeded $2,000.00. This investigation will continue.


03-26-13 01:58 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Assault to rape
Unit block S. Union Ave. – Lansdowne Police and EMS were dispatched for a report of sexual assault. On arrival the victim stated that a black male pulled her into an alley off of S. Union Ave by the car lot and raped her. The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance for evaluation and treatment. The victim stated that this is the third time that the person who raped her jumped out of the same alley on her. This officer checked the area where the assault was believed to have occurred for signs of a struggle or anything of evidentiary value but found nothing. This officer then went to the hospital to peak to the victim and her boyfriend about the incident. Investigation is ongoing by detectives.


03-26-13 15:33 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan – Criminal mischief to auto
100 block E. Plumstead Ave. – On arrival victim showed this officer her vehicle a 1999 green, Mercury Mountaineer SUV which was parked in the driveway. Some sort of paint splattered all over the hood. The victim suspects her daughters ex-boyfriend.


03-27-13 10:16 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle – Burglary-forced entry-nonresidence- unknown time
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – Police responded to a burglary discovered. On arrival the business owner stated that unknown actor/s forced open the rear door of the hair salon and went to the drawer of the front desk and took a case containing $151.23. Also taken was a portfolio containing account information, security codes, insurance policies, licenses and other paperwork vital to the business. The business owner suspects a former business partner.


03-30-13 17:28 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Burglary-forced entry – residence- unknown time
Unit block Nyack Ave. – Victim reports entry made into his apartment with several items missing. The victim did not report the burglary until the next day. The victim did clean up the apartment before police arrived on scene.
