Police activity week of 03-24-14 through 03-30-14

03-24-1423:04 hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – Burglary-attempt-residence-night
Unit block Mansfield Rd. – A burglary attempt occurred at some point between 2130 hours on 3/22/14 and 0800 hours on 3/23/14. The kitchen door was the attempted point of entry. A small pry mark was observed on the door frame. No entry was made to the residence.

03-25-1413:17 hours – Ptl. C. Brown – Narcotics- use
Unit block W. Baltimore Ave. – The offender was arrested after several narcotic pills were located on his person.

03-27-1408:35 hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza – Theft- under $50 – auto parts
Unit block W. LaCrosse Ave. – The victim reports that his overnight parking permit had been stolen from the rear window of his vehicle.

03-28-14 Ptl. J. McGowan – Theft- $200 & over- all other
100 block Green Ave. – PWHS – Police were dispatched to PWHS for a theft discovered. Upon arrival writer met with Assistant Principal who advised a theft of a cell phone occurred on today’s date at 11:44 hours. Through surveillance footage and witness statements the offender was taken into custody.

03-28-14 15:30 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan – Criminal mischief to autos
100 block Green Ave. – PWHS -The victim came to LPD to report vandalism to a vehicle. The vehicle was parked in front of the school. He discovered that the cover to his right side view mirror was on the ground. Estimated damage to be around $150.00.

03-30-1404:03 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Narcotics- possession
N. Lansdowne & E. Essex Aves. – The offender was located on a pedestrian stop for public drunkenness. The offender was taken into custody and searched. Located on the offender’s person was a clear glassine ziplock bag with a white power suspected to be cocaine. The offender will be charged appropriately.

03-30-14 18:26 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Burglary- no force – nonresidence- day
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – Dispatched for a report of a burglary attempt discovered. The victim reports that she is remodeling/reopening the now vacant shop. She noticed a piece of molding on the back door out of place. Nothing appeared to be missing at this time.
