Police activity week of 03-05-12 through 03-11-12

03-06-12 11:58 hours – Sgt. B. Eidell – Disorderly conduct
100 block Green Ave. (PWHS) – Responded to PWHS attendance officer for an assault that occurred earlier in the day. The victim reports she was hit during a verbal altercation. The offender did also assault tow school security officers as they attempted to take the offender into custody. All involved in the altercation, several students, will be issued citations if warranted.


03-06-12 11:38 hours – Sgt. B. Eidell – Assault-simple
100 block Green Ave. (PWHS) – Relative to previous offense, altercation at the high school. The juvenile offender who assaulted the two security officers will be charged for assault.


03-06-12 13:57 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Burglary-forced entry-residence day
Unit block Eldon Ave. – Responded to a report of a burglary discovered. The victim states she came home at approximately 13:57 hours, she discovered her front door ajar. As she entered the residence she observed the front door forced open. Witness reports seeing two black males near the property. Witness later observed one male leaving the residence carrying a beige colored sack containing items. Several items taken from the home valued at approximately $10,000.


03-06-12 19:38 hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza – Burglary-attempt-residence day
Unit block W. Windermere Ter. – The reporting party states who states when he returned home at approximately 17:40 hours he discovered a wide open window in the front sunroom of the residence. Does not look like entry was made to the home and nothing was reported missing. At the time of this report there are no known witnesses or suspects to this attempted burglary offense.


03-06-12 22:51 hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza – Harassment, Disorderly conduct
100 block E. Essex Ave. – On arrival the complainant reported her 17 year old son had been threatened earlier by the offender. This is an ongoing problem involving the victim and the offender. The offender will be mailed two citations for harassment & disorderly conduct.


03-07-12 20:25 hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – Harassment
Unit block Nyack Ave. – Responded for report of an unwanted subject. The offender was at the victim’s home, uninvited and unannounced and she possibly left the area. Police had been at the residence approximately 30 minutes prior for a domestic. The offender was advised not to go back to the residence or she would be charged accordingly. Did make contact with the offender, who was placed into custody. A witness reports the offender was observed kicking the victims’ door. The offender will be charged appropriately.


03-08-12 15:05 hours – Ptl. C. Brown – Theft- $50 to $200 from buildings
200 block Owen Ave. – the reporting party called the police to report a theft involving her client. The victim is currently being assisted by COSA. The victim is believed to have been scammed by a contractor. Also other items missing from the property. Investigation to continue.


03-09-12 09:55 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Criminal mischief to automobiles
243 Jackson Ave. -The complainant discovered two tires slashed on her mother’s vehicle. The complainant an ex-boyfriend might have slashed the tires. Cost of tow and tire replacement is $292.56.


03-09-12 14:14 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Disorderly conduct
E. Greenwood & N. Highland Aves. – Police received report of a fight. Made contact with PWHS security who reported that two PWHS students had been fighting. Both students had left the area prior to police arrival. After speaking with a witness and school officials both offenders will be cited by mail for disorderly conduct.


03-09-12 – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Disorderly conduct
100 block Green Ave. – PWHS- While at PWHS obtaining information on two students who had been fighting after school the Assistant School Principal reported a domestic assault that occurred earlier in the school day between a male and female student. After obtaining information from both students, conflicting stories. This officer will view any surveillance tapes and make a decision as to charges against the students. At this point the male will be charges with disorderly conduct.


03-1-12 14:42 hours – Sgt. B. Eidell – Disorderly conduct
Scottdale Rd. – Received an anonymous report of a group of white males smoking marijuana in a gold colored Ford Explorer under the trestle at Hoffman Park. On arrival observed the vehicle sitting in the parking lot. It appeared to be occupied by both males and females. Upon approaching the vehicle an odor of burnt marijuana could be smelled coming from the interior of the vehicle. Upon questioning and investigation the offenders will be charges with disorderly conduct.


03-10-12 15:16 hours – Sgt. B. Eidell -Theft- $200 & over
100 block S. Lansdowne Ave. – The victim reports that an unknown actor/s had stolen her manual wheelchair from the garage, where her friend had left it after getting her back onto her apartment. The victim did not report this theft until approximately two weeks after she discovered the wheelchair was taken.


03-11-12 21:37 hours – Ptl. C. Craig – Assaults – simple
100 block McKinley Ave. – The victim reports he had been assaulted. The victim had several lacerations to his face and mouth. He was transported to the hospital. Spoke to the parties involved. Investigation to continue.
