Police activity week of 02-27-12 through 03-04-12
02-27-12 15:38 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Trespassing of real property
100 block Green Ave. (PWHS) – Pennwood security officers were requested to remove a student from a school bus. The student refused to leave the bus and resisted the officers when they attempted to escort him off and then again when they placed him in custody. The juvenile will be charged appropriately.
02-27-12 18:47 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Burglary-forced entry-residence day
100 block Lansdowne Ct. – Police were called for a burglary discovered. On arrival the victim stated he had been through the house and all windows and doors were locked. He did notice the front door deadbolt lock was now disengaged. This officer discovered a basement window was broken out. Missing from the home is approximately $50.00 in change, approximately $50.00 in Canadian money and $60.00 in Euros. There were several high value items in the residence the actor passed up to include jewelry and musical instruments.
02-27-12 17:10 hours – Ptl. C. Brown – Theft- $50 to $200 bicycles
Unit block W. Marshall Rd. – the victim stated that she placed her black/blue Raleigh bike on the rear wall of the store and entered the store. When she returned 10 minutes later the bike had been stolen. The bike was not secured. Checked the area with negative results.
02-28-12 17:16 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – All other offenses-littering
E. Baltimore & N. Union Aves. – Offender was observed throwing trash on the highway. The offender was stopped and cited for littering.
02-29-12 00:00 hours Sgt. J. McCaughan – Drive under the influence
N. Wycombe Ave. – this officer observed a vehicle with its four way flashers on. The vehicle was to the left side of the roadway. Activated the emergency lights on the patrol vehicle and approached the vehicle on foot. The offender was informed his vehicle was creating a traffic problem. After moving the vehicle to a safe position, the offender exited the vehicle. The offender was suspected of driving under a controlled substance and asked to perform field sobriety tests. The offender failed both. The offender was taken into custody and will be charged appropriately.
02-29-12 14:36 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan – Burglary-forced entry-nonresidence-day
Unit block w. LaCrosse Ave. – Police dispatched for a burglary discovered. The victim reports that a 50″ flat screen television was missing from the apartment. No forced entry in to the apartment. The victim reports the television is not working properly. The television is worth $600.00.
02-29-12 20:30 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Driving under the influence
W. Marshall & Shadeland Aves. – Received a report of a hit and run accident. A witness did obtain a registration plate number. The offender was located and identified by the witness. The offender had a strong odor of alcohol on his person, had trouble standing, his speech was slurred and was having a difficult time following instructions. The offender was taken into custody and will be charged appropriately.
02-29-12 20:11 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – theft- under $50 from buildings
Unit block Fairview Ave. – The victim reports his basement aluminum window was stolen, valued at $30.00
03-02-12 01:48 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Driving under the influence
Unit block S. Lansdowne Ave. – While on patrol this officer observed a vehicle on the front law of a property. The vehicle appeared to be stuck on the front lawn because I observed the two front tires spinning. Made contact with the offender. Asked the offender to exit the vehicle, the offender was unsteady on his feet and almost fell several times. The offender failed a PBT test. The offender was taken into custody and will be charged appropriately.
03-02-12 14:32 hours – Ptl. C. Brown – Robbery-strong arm
100 block Green Ave. (PWHS) – The victim called police to report that he was assaulted and his bike was stolen. The victim exited the PWHS unlocked his bike from the bike stand, suddenly four black males approached him and pushed him off his bike. The black males were last seen running in all directions with one of the males riding the victim’s bike. The victim did not contact any PWHS security staff or the police at the time of the incident; he called when he arrived home. This officer did view the video surveillance tapes from the high school for the time provided by the victim. The video did not show the victim or his bike on or near the time provided.
03-02-12 19:15 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Theft- $200 & over from buildings
Unit block W. Baltimore Ave. – The victim reports she discovered a box that was address to her in the mail room had been opened and its contents removed. Taken from the box was a Kindle Fire tablet valued at $210.89. There appears to be a security camera in the mail room that may have captured an actor opening the box. Police will follow up with the building management about obtaining camera footage.
03-03-12 11:09 hours – Ptl. C. Brown – Narcotics-possession
Unit block E. Stewart Ave. – Police received a call for a report of a suspicious occupied motor vehicle in a driveway. On arrival police located two black females in the vehicle. After investigation both females and a male were returned to police headquarters. Both females were in possession of marijuana and the male was in custody for trespass. All three were charged appropriately.
03-03-12 Sgt. J. McCaughan – Assaults-simple
Unit block E. LaCrosse Ave. – Police were dispatched for a domestic problem. On arrival officers were approached by the victim. The victim stated her and the offender got into an argument. When the victim went to leave the room the offender did assault her, the victim did appear to have red marks and bruising around her neck and her shirt was torn. Other boarders in the residence heard the struggle and her calling for help and forced their way into the room, freeing the victim. The offender was taken into custody and will be charged appropriately.
03-04-12 10:53 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Assault-firearm
100 block Bryn Mawr Ave. – Police received a report of a home invasion that just occurred. The actor was described as a black male with a hand gun that had fled on foot. Victim states while in her residence she received a knock on her door, she asked who was there, the male stated her neighbor. The victim opened the door and a black male pushed her to the floor, entered the home and pulled a silver semi automatic large frame hand gun from his waistband and told her to get on the floor and shut up. The victim got back on her feet and she and the offender began to tussle. The victim’s house alarm was sounding during the altercation. The victim hit the offender with a vase and the male then left the house. Police did interview neighbors. Investigation to continue.
