Police activity week of 02-24-14 through 03-02-14
02-24-1419:34 hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – Trespassing of real property
Unit block Legion Ter. – The victim reported a possible unwanted subject in her home. The victim stated her son/offender had texted her and threatened to break into her home. Police responded to the home and located the offender in an upstairs bedroom. Offender was taken into custody and will be charged appropriately.
02-25-1415:15 hours – Ptl. c. Brown – Assault – knife or cutting instrument
200 block W. Albemarle Ave. – Police received a report of a stabbing victim in the emergency room of DCMH .The victim reported that he was stabbed by an unknown male while inside of a home on the 200 block ofW. Albemarle Avenue. Due to the extent of the victim’s injuries he was transported to HUP for treatment. Further investigation revealed that the victim and the suspect are related. This investigation will continue.
02-27-1401:39 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Assaults
200 block Bryn Mawr Ave. – Police were dispatched for a domestic involving a male and a female, possibly physical. On arrival the female victim reported that the male offender, her boyfriend did beat her up. The victim had a bloody swollen lower lip, multiple scratches and red marks all over her face and neck, a large contusion and abrasion on her lower left leg. The boyfriend/offender was taken into custody and will be charged.
02-27-1402:45 hours – Sgt. B. Eidell- Driving under the influence
S. Wycombe & Fairview Aves. – PEO Haberle requested a police officer meet him at S. Wycombe &
Fairview for a subject passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle. On arrival found the offender in the vehicle with the vehicle in drive and his foot on the brake. The car was placed in park and the ignition was turned off, without the offender waking up. The offender did have a strong odor of alcohol beverage on his breath and body. Once police were able to wake the offender he was disoriented and his speech was slurred. The offender was not able to pass any field tests. The offender was placed under arrest for DUI.
02-28-1410:40 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Disorderly conduct
100 block Green Ave. – PWHS – Enroute to PWHS we were advised that the school was reporting a student in custody for possession of marijuana. The 18 yoa student was cited and released to the school.
03-01-1404:40 hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – Driving under the influence
W. Baltimore Ave. – While initiating a traffic stop and approaching the vehicle, a strong odor of alcoholic beverage was detected and both front air bags were observed to be deployed. Due to the offender’s unsteady condition and for his safety, as he could not stand up without assistance, field sobriety tests were not performed. The offender did fail the PBT test that was administered. The offender will be charged appropriately.
