Police activity week of 02-21-11 through 02-27-11

02-21-11 12:23 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Criminal Mischief to auto
Unit block Legion Ter. – The victim reports he noticed the left rear passenger door window had been broken. The vehicle was parked in the driveway. Nothing was missing from the vehicle.


02-21-11 13:37 hours – Ptl. C. Brown – Burglary-forced entry- residence-time unknown
100 block Woodland Ave. – The victim advised that a large amount of copper piping has been stolen from the residence. Rooms included were the basement, kitchen and upstairs bathroom. The water meter located in the basement was also stolen.


02-21-11 14:51 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – MV theft-autos
200 block Scottdale Rd. – The victim received a phone call from her insurance agent asking where her vehicle was because the agent received a call that the vehicle was located in Philadelphia. The victim went to check on her vehicle and it was indeed missing. This officer advised the victim to call Philadelphia Police in reference to locating the vehicle. This officer did enter the vehicle as stolen in NCIC.


02-23-11 1800 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Theft -under $50 – from buildings
100 block Madison Rd. -The victim came to police headquarters to make a report of a theft from his residence. The victim stated he hired the suspect to baby sit his two children beginning the third week of June 2010 to mid August 2010. Throughout the months he discovered money was slowly missing. He set up a motion sensor camera and discovered the suspect stealing $10 from his wallet and going through his kid’s wallet. The victim stated he did not confront the suspect because she had two days left working for him and did not want her to retaliate.

The victim stated today his wife discovered her Flute valued at $2,000 to $3,000 missing along with a Bose headphones valued at $200 from their residence. This investigation will be turned over to the detective division.


02-23-11 22:20 – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Liquor law – underage – purchase, consumption, possession
Unit block Legion Ter. – Police received a report of a domestic argument inside the residence involving a mother and her intoxicated 19 year old son. On arrival the mother stated her son was drunk and giving her a hard time. The son was visibly intoxicated. The offender was asked several times to put on his jacket and we would give him a ride to a friend’s house. The offender refused and was finally arrested for underage drinking. The offender was returned to headquarters and held overnight until he sobered up. The offender did have several active bench warrants.


02-24-11 09:45 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Trespassing of real property
100 block Midway Ave. – Domestic involving offender and mother of his child.
The offender was charged with trespassing.


02-24-11 12:41 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Narcotics-possession
200 block Glentay Ave. – The offender was transported to police headquarters on a warrant. While in custody in a search incident to arrest, this officer found in the offenders possession where pills, Valium and suspected Suboxone SL. The offender was housed pending arraignment.


02-24-11 15:28 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Disorderly conduct
100 block Green ave. (PWHS) – Police were called to PWHS for an intoxicated white female. Police made contact with the female who was observed highly intoxicated, slurred speech, glassy blood shot eyes, rambling nonsense, screaming and yelling. The offender was transported to police headquarters cited and house.


02-24-11 12:03 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Harassment
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. (Wawa) – Police dispatched for unwanted subject. The store clerk stated the offender has been banned from the store. The offender did take merchandise from the store without paying. The offender was found outside the store and he was told he was not to come back to the store as he had been banned. Upon returning to headquarters observed a letter posted stating the offender had been advised by certified mail that he was banned from the store. The offender will be cited by mail.


02-24-11 21:05 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Disorderly conduct
100 block N. Lansdowne Ave. – the complainant called police in reference to an ongoing neighbor problem involving tenants in the apartment building. The complainant called due to constant yelling, stomping from the children in the apartment. This officer responded and could clearly hear the children being loud and running around the apartment. The TV could be heard out in the common hall and loud talking from the adults in the apartment. This apartment has been the source of numerous complaints of noise. Both offenders were advised to keep the noise down and turn the music down to a reasonable.
The male offender stated he would turn down the music. Prior to police leaving, the music went back up to an unreasonable level again. The offenders were advised citations would be issued.


02-26-11 01:36 hours – Sgt. B. Eidell – Assault
200 block Bryn Mawr Ave. – During a domestic the victim was punched in the face by the offender. The victim did need hospital attention for laceration requiring stitches on her forehead above her right eye.
Warrant will be issued for the offender.
