Police activity week of 02-20-12 through 02-26-12

02-19-12 02:04 hours – Ptl. C. Brown – Drive under the influence
100 block W. Greenwood Ave. – Police responded to report of an accident. Upon approaching the offender a strong odor of alcohol could be smelled emanating from his person. The offender was uncooperative and refused to exit his vehicle. The offender was taken into custody. The offender will be charged appropriately.


02-21-12 11:08 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle – Burglary-attempt-residence – night
100 block W. Plumstead Ave. – the victim reports she found her screen window of her laundry room had been tampered with. The actor/s climbed on the roof of the garage and pushed open the screen, but could not get the glass window open. No entry gained.


02-22-12 17:09 hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – Theft- $50 to $200 from buildings
Unit block W. Albemarle Ave. – The victim reports that a $100.00 was taken from his residence. There is no forced entry. The victim believes it is the cleaning person.


02-22-12 23:34 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Drive under the influence
N. Union & E. Stratford Aves. – This officer made a vehicle stop for erratic driving. This officer stopped the vehicle and made contact with the offender. A strong odor of alcohol was detected emanating from the offenders breath. The offender did fail field sobriety tests. The offender was taken into custody and will be charged appropriately.


02-23-12 15:45 hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – Burglary-forced entry-nonresidence-unknown time
Burmont Rd (Lansdowne Swim Club) – A volunteer at the swim club approached police and reported that a window to the building was open and thought it was unusual. The volunteer entered the swim club and observed the kitchen had been vandalized. In addition to the damage in the kitchen, a wooden spoke to a fence was broken.


02-23-12 16:48 hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – Theft-$200 & over
Unit block Bartram Ave. – The victim stated that two of his ladders were taken from the rear of his property.


02-23-12 19:17 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Theft under $50
Unit block N. Highland Ave. – Dispatched to see the man for a customer dispute in progress. A taxi driver reported that a customer entered an apartment without paying the taxi fare. Unable to ascertain which apartment the offender entered. Loss to cab driver $10.00.


02-23-12 20:56 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Disorderly conduct
100 block N. Lansdowne Ave. – Dispatched for a domestic with a weapon, a male was reported to have a gun. On arrival ascertained this was a custody dispute, no gun involved. Two offenders were cited for disorderly conduct due to their unruly behavior.


02-24-12 14:04 hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza – Criminal mischief to auto
100 block Wabash Ave. – the victim reports damage to the left front operator side door and left rear operator side door of her vehicle. The victim while in her home heard her car alarm sounding. She went outside to check the vehicle she saw the damage to the left front operator side door and found a hammer lying next to the vehicle. A second time the victim heard her car alarm and saw a rock near the vehicle and damage to left rear operator side of the vehicle. No witnesses to the incident.


02-25-12 00:33 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Public Drunkenness
W. Baltimore & Ardmore Aves. – This officer observed a male walking with a staggering gait east on W. Baltimore Avenue. Approaching the offender a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected on his person along with slurred speech and glassy blood shot eyes. The offender was taken into custody and was cited with public drunkenness.


02-25-12 02:47 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Assaults – simple
100 block N. Wycombe Ave. – Police responded for a report of a domestic between two males reported to be physical with one male being intoxicated. On arrival the victim stated the offender did assault him. The offender was visibly intoxicated and giving police a difficult time. The victim had blood on his shirt and red marks on his neck. The offender was placed under arrest for simple assault and domestic abuse.


02-26-12 03:27 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Disorderly conduct
Unit block Legion Ter. – Police dispatched for domestic between mother and son. On police arrival the mother stated her son came into her home unannounced, unwelcome and high on drugs. She told her son to leave, he refused. The offender was observed with glassy blood shot eyes, slurred speech and had slow mannerisms. He had a difficult time comprehending questions from police. The offender placed into custody and charged with disorderly conduct.
