Police activity week of 02-14-11 through 02-20-11

02-14-11 08:30 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Theft- $50 to $200 from auto
Unit block S. Wycombe Ave. – Victim reported his vehicle had been rifled through. Missing are a set of keys, a purse containing approximately $15 in change and another $15 in change from the vehicle. The driver’s side door lock was damaged.

02-14-11 – 21:58 hours – Ptl. K. McDermott -Theft- under $50 from auto
Unit block E. Strattford Ave. – The reporting party, daughter of the victim, reports a theft from her father’s vehicle. Missing from vehicle is loose change. The RP is not sure if she locked the vehicle.

02-15-11 03:52 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Murder-knife or cutting instrument
Unit block Schappet Ter. – Police received a report of a stabbing victim. Police responded and located the suspect. Upon entering the house this officer observed the victim lying on his back on the floor.

The victim had been stabbed in the chest area. The suspect states she and the victim were fighting, he began throwing items around and when she told him she was calling the police he threw her cell phone on the porch. The suspect states the victim came towards her and she feared for her safety and grabbed a knife and stabbed him. The suspect was taken into custody. Investigation to continue.

02-16-11 15:04 hours – Sgt. B. Eidell – Theft- under $50-retail theft
Unit block E. Baltimore Ave. (Rite Aid) – Police were dispatched to the Rite Aid for a shop lifter in custody. The offender who concealed a can of Gerber Good Start baby food and two jars of hair gel was taken into custody. The offender did give police false information. When identity was established the offender had an extensive criminal history with no less than seven convictions for retail theft. The offender was transported to Delaware County Prison. This officer prepared a criminal complaint against the offender and will have a bench warrant issued and a detainer to keep the offender at the prison until hearing date.

02-16-11 14:30 hours – Sgt. B. Eidell – Theft- $200 & over- from auto
Unit block E. Stratford Ave. – The reporting party stopped at police headquarters to report a theft from vehicle that occurred a couple of earlier. The victim, reporting party’s wife, had parked her 2004 Subaru Legacy in the driveway. When the RP went out to start the vehicle he noticed the center console had been ransacked. The only items reported missing for the vehicle is the victim’s briefcase with documents relative to her work. No damage to the locked vehicle.

02-17-11 12:55 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Theft-under $50-auto parts & accessories
Unit block Linden Ave. – The victim called to report that someone had stolen his registration plate off of his vehicle. The theft occurred between February 8th and February 9th.

02-20-11 01:50 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Theft-$200 & over-auto accessories
Unit block S. Lansdowne Ave. -The victim called police after he discovered all four rims and tires stolen from his vehicle. The rims are described at 18″ factory chrome rims valued around $700.00 each.

02-20-11 23:32 hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – MV theft-auto-driveway
Unit block Scottdale Rd. – Report of vehicle stolen from driveway. The victim suspected the son of her friend. Vehicle located on the Wawa parking lot. Offender was taken into custody at the scene and vehicle recovered.
