Police activity week of 02-10-2014 through 02-16-2014
02-10-1409:45 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Theft- $200 & over from buildings
100 block McKinley Ave. – The victim reported a theft of a washer and dryer from his property.
02-12-1407:40 hours – Ptl. T. 5elimis – Assault
100 block Green Ave. – (PWHS) – Dispatched to PWHS for a fight. Both parties involved were in the Asst. Principal’s office. The offender stated he got into a fight with the victim because he doesn’t like him. The offender would not give any specific reason; just that he doesn’t like him. The victim and his girlfriend were talking outside of the school. The offender came up to them, reached over the girlfriend and punched the victim in the head. Both males grabbed each other and were pulling and pushing. School Security separated the parties. The offender was placed into custody and transported to LPD. The offender will be charged appropriately.
02-12-1411:45 hours – Sgt. B. Eidell – Theft- under $50
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – The victim stated her purse was taken after making a purchase at the store. Upon observing the video from the store, a b/m was seen picking up the woman’s purse and entering a vehicle. The male did leave the area. Upon locating the male, he advised he did find a wallet and did place same in the mail box of the owner. Wallet was located in the victims’ mail box.
02-14-1419:12 hours – ptl. P. Young – Drive under influence
Nyack & Union Aves. – Offender was taken into custody after finding her vehicle stopped in the roadway. The offender moved at a very slow pace and in a confused manner. Officers attempted to give a PBT test several times and the offender would not follow the directions correctly and did not blow into the device enough for a reading. The offender was placed in custody and will be charged appropriately.
02-14-1422:10 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Public drunkenness
E. Plumstead Ave. – Dispatched for a report of an intoxicated person. The offender was eventually located lying on the ground between a car and the garage door. The male had appeared to have fallen and there was a heavy odor of an alcoholic beverage on his person. The offender, due to his injury, was transported by EMS personal to the hospital. A citation was filed charging the offender with public drunkenness.
02-15-1416:44 hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – Criminal mischief to auto
200 block Owen Ave. – On arrival the victim states that at some point on 2/15/14 the rear passenger side tire of his vehicle was slashed. The victim believes his tire was slashed in retaliation for taking the neighbor’s parking spot.
