Police activity week of 02-07-11 through 02-13-11
02-09-11 21:50 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Narcotics-possession
200 block E. Greenwood Ave. – While on patrol this officer observed a white Ford Crown Victoria make a left turn from E. Greenwood Avenue in Upper Darby and travel the wrong way on N.Union. The vehicle was stopped at the intersection of E. Greenwood & Wycombe Aves. As this officer approached the vehicle a strong odor of burnt marijuana was smelled emitted from the vehicle. All occupants were asked to step out of the vehicle. Passenger did admit to having marijuana. The passenger/offender was taken into custody and will be charged appropriately.
02-10-11 11:43 hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – Disorderly conduct
100 block green Ave. (PWHS) – Police were dispatched to PWHS for a report of two disorderly female students. Both were involved in a fight. Both offenders stated the other was verbally abusive and a fight ensued. Both offenders were issued citations for disorderly conduct.
02-10-11 20:52 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Theft-$50 to $200 – from auto
100 block E. Baltimore Ave. – The victim was in the CVS store for approximately 5 minutes, when she returned to her vehicle she discovered the passenger side window smashed. Taken from the vehicle was one black leather purse containing one wallet, one drivers license, one debit card and two W2 forms, one 1098 form all in her name.
02-11-11 10:20 hours – Sgt. B. Eidell – Theft-$50 to $200 – from auto
S. Wycombe Ave. – Victim, Verizon worker, reported offender entered cab of his work truck while he was working underground. Taken was cash from the victim’s wallet.
02-11-11 21:38 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Harassment
Unit block S. Lansdowne Ave. – The complainant came to police headquarters to report continued harassment by her neighbor as documented by Sgt. Eidell on 2/8/11. The offender, according to the complainant, continues to call them. The offender will be cited for harassment and the complainant has been referred to the court to obtain an emergency PFA.
02-13-11 02:35 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Assaults-other simple
100 block E. Greenwood Ave. – Police dispatched for a report of an assault. Made contact with the victim and witness. The victim reported that they had gotten out of a taxi cab and were walking on the sidewalk leading up the victim home, when the victim was struck in the left side of the face by an unknown male. The offender left the area. Police checked area with negative results.
02-13-11 20:00 hours – Sgt. B. Eidell – Theft-attempted-from auto
E. Stratford Ave. – The reporting party states unknown person/s did riffle through two locked vehicle in the area of her residence. Both of the cars belonged to relatives. No loss at this time.
