Police activity week of 01-23-12 through 01-29-12

01-23-12 10:30 hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza -Theft- Under $50
100 block Blackburn Ave. – The victim came to police headquarters to report that she discovered her bank card had been stolen. She was contacted by the bank in reference to fraudulent activity on her account. Investigation to continue.

01-23-12 17:40 hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza – Theft- under $50 auto parts & accessories
200 block W. Greenwood Ave. – The victim reports that the Lansdowne Borough Overnight parking permit had been stolen from the rear window of the vehicle that he and his wife own.

01-24-12 11:09 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle – Burglary-attempt-residence-day
Unit block W. Albemarle Ave. – Police responded to an attempted burglary. The victim stated he was getting out of the shower when he heard a loud banging sound at the rear of his residence. He looked out the second floor window and observed a man trying to force entry into his house. The victim yelled at the actor. The actor lost his footing, got back up and ran away. No entry made into the house. Police searched the area and stopped two subjects matching the description but both were found to have no involvement in this incident.

01-25-12 14:31 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Disorderly conduct
Crawford & Essex Aves. – Police responded to a call for a fight. A large group dispersing upon police arrival. One witness had filmed the fight on his cell phone. This officer viewed the fight video on the cell phone. One current student and one former student who were identified in the video will be cited for disorderly conduct. Fight seemed, from viewing the video, to be staged by the two combatants.

01-26-12 12:04 hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – Disorderly conduct
100 Green Ave. (PWHS) – PWHS had two students in custody for fighting. On police arrival made contact with school security. Both offenders were taken into police custody, returned to headquarters and charged. Both offenders were released to their mothers.

01-26-12 21:21 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Burglary-forced entry-residence- night
100 block N. Lansdowne Ave. – Police received a report of burglar alarm activation. On arrival discovered the first floor bathroom window of the home smashed out. Police checked exterior and interior of home with negative findings. Victims contacted later and they reported medications missing but not sure what else may have been taken. Advised the victim’s to create and itemized list of all missing property and turn same into the police department.

01-27-12 16:20 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle – Robbery-strong arm -residence
100 block N. Lansdowne Ave. – The victim reports his door bell rang and he answered the door. Once the door was open the offender pushed his way inside and struck the victim with a brick. The offender was apprehended and taken into custody. The offender will be charged appropriately.

01-28-12 14:08 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle – Robbery- armed-firearm-chain store
Unit N. Lansdowne Ave. – Police responded to a robbery, just occurred. On arrival the Wawa store had been robbed at gun point. The offender fled the scene. Police did interview employees and this investigation will continue.

01-29-12 00:13 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Assault- firearm
100 block Blackburn Ave. – Police responded for a report of a shooting, the victim being shot in the foot. Another victim had been shot in the thigh and calf. Both transported to the hospital. Police on scene did interview all those present. Investigation to continue.

01-29-12 19:56 hours – Sgt. B. Eidell – Disorderly conduct
Unit block Schappet Ter. – Offender was taken into custody and issued a citation for disorderly conduct.

The offender was upset after receiving a parking ticket for blocking his neighbor’s driveway.
