Police activity week of 01-06-14 through 01-12-14
01-06-1415:21 hours – Ptl. T. 5elimis – Burglary – no force- residence – unknown time
100 block Powelton Ave. – Police were dispatched for a burglary discovered. On arrival made contact with the homeowner. The victim stated that yesterday he received a call from his realtor advising him that all the copper in the basement was stolen. The victim estimates the value of the stolen pipe is $3,000.00. There was no signs of forced entry at the front or rear doors.
01-07-1417:06 hours – Ptl. C. Craig – Burglary-no force-residence-unknown
200 block N. Wycombe Ave. – The son -in-law of the property owner reports, the residence was burglarized. Missing from the home was the washer and dryer and the copper piping in the basement.
01-08-1407:41 hours – ptl. C. Brown – Disorderly conduct
100 Block Green Ave. (PWHS) – Police received a report of a fight that had already been broken up by the schools staff. The two offenders involved in the fight were cited and suspended for five days from PWHS.
01-08-1409:38 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Criminal mischief to auto & disorderly conduct
200 block Windermere Ave. – One taken into police custody as a result of a domestic dispute. The offender did break out the rear window of the involved parties’ vehicle.
01-09-1413:19 hours – Ptl. P. Young – Drive under influence
Scottdale Rd. – The offender was taken into custody after a report from Clifton Heights Police. The offender did damage to the guardrail and stop sign on Scottdale Road. The offender was placed into police custody and taken to the hospital for a blood sample. The offender will be charged appropriately.
01-09-1418:09 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan – Theft- $200 & over from auto
N. Lansdowne Ave. – The victim reports that after going to the gym, her vehicle was broken into. Previous to entering the gym she believed her vehicle was locked. When she came back from the gym her vehicle was open. Today she discovered her purse missing from the vehicle. Inside the purse was the victims’ identification.
01-09-1420:03 hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – Burglary- attempt-residence- unknown time
Unit block E. Essex Ave. -The victim stated that on today’s date an attempt was made to gain entry to his residence, through two separate windows. This officer did observe pry marks to the frame of the screens of two separate windows. No entry was gained to the residence.
01-11-1414:00 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Theft- $200 & over from auto
Unit block W. Windermere Ter. – The victim reports that there were items stolen from his vehicle. The victim is not sure whether he locked the car doors or not. Missing from the vehicle were a purse, boots prescription glasses, a Garmin GPS and an I-pod.
01-11-1415:07 hours – Sgt. B. Eidell – Assault firearm
200 block W. Marshall Rd. – This officer responded to the victim’s residence. That victim stated he was walking toward the rear of his property and had his 14 year old son with him. While walking down the west side of their residence they observed a black male run from behind their house west toward their neighbor’s house. The victim again observed the actor. The actor looked at the victim and his son, pointed the handgun directly at them and then fled west down the alley toward the park. Nothing was said. Police checked the area with negative results.
01-11-1418:40 hours – Ptl. J. McGowan – Theft Attempted from buildings
100 block E. Baltimore Ave. – The shift manager of the CVS reports an attempted theft from the store. The Manager stated she saw the black male putting large amounts of over the counter pain killers and medicine into a bag. The Manager told the actor to drop the bag and she would not call police. The male dropped the bag and left the store. Officer C. Schiazza stopped a male that matched the description given by the Manager. The Manager stated the male was not the person who attempted to steal. Total value of attempted loss was $462.67.
01-11-1418:40 hours – Ptl. C. 5chiazza – Disorderly conduct
sao block Baltimore Ave. – When searching for the male who attempted to steal items from the CVS, I observed a male who matched the description of the actor. When patting down the actor I felt a knife in the lining of his coat. When getting the knife out of the coat this officer found two small bags of green leafy substance that was suspected marijuana in the coat. The offender was taken into custody for the marijuana. He was released after being issued a citation for disorderly conduct.
01-12-1411:01 hours – Ptl C. 5chiazza – Criminal mischief to auto
100 E. Essex Ave. – The victim reported that yesterday morning she noticed the left front tire of her vehicle was flat. She noticed the tire had been slashed. The victim also reported that her neighbor around the corner told her that someone slashed his tire.
01-12-1411:15 hours – Ptl. C. 5chiazza – Criminal mischief to auto
200 block Wabash Ave. – This officer made contact with the neighbor of the previous criminal mischief offense. The victim reported that yesterday morning he noticed that his left front tire had been slashed. His vehicle was parked in the rear of his home.
