Police activity week of 11-29-10 through 12-05-10

11-30-10 10:15 hours – Sgt. D. Donegan – Harassment by communication

200 block Windermere Ave. – The victim called and reported she has been receiving harassing phone calls since April 2010. She spooked to her phone carrier who stated she needed to contact the police.  The victim wants to know who is responsible for making the calls and she is willing to prosecute.


11-23-10 20:08 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Disorderly conduct
100 block N. Lansdowne Ave. – Police received a report of an assault. Actor was last seen standing near a black Chevy Avalanche in the parking lot. This officer located a Chevy Avalanche leaving the parking lot and did stop the vehicle. The actor stated he was in a verbal confrontation at the church where he attends AA meetings. The victim did identify the actor as the person that hit him. A witness stated that the confrontation was just verbal and not physical. A citation was issued to the actor for disorderly conduct.


11-30-10 18:30 hours – Ptl. C. Brown – Narcotics-possession

200 block Glentay Ave. – the offender was arrested after impairing law enforcement officers from the administration of the law.  A search incident to arrest resulted in numerous drugs being discovered.  The offender was transported to police headquarters, processed and released.  Drug evidence and seized monies were secured by the Detective division.


11-30-10 23:07 hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – Theft-under $50-retail theft

Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – Police received a call for theft of services.  On arrival the owner of the business stated a b/m had taken $20.00 worth of food without paying.


12-01-10 02:45 hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – Theft-under $50

The offender obtained a ride in a taxi cab then refused to pay the fair. The offender will be charged appropriately.


12-01-10 10:47 hours – Ptl. M. Mugler – Assault

100 block Green Ave. (PWHS) – the juvenile offender was advised by a PWHS security officer to leave an area, after there was a confrontation with another student.  The offender refused to leave and did kick and threaten the security officer.  Police arrived and the offender was returned to police headquarters.  The offender was already on probation and was transported out to juvenile detention.


12-01-10 21:10 hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza –MV theft

100 block W. Baltimore Ave. – Police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle discovered.  The reporting party states he left the keys, with the engine running and the doors to the vehicle unlocked, when he went inside his apartment to get his wallet.  When he returned to the vehicle it was gone.  Vehicle value $6,000.00.  There was also a Hewlett Packard 17.3” laptop computer in the vehicle, valued at $800.00.


12-02-10 08:43 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan– Trooper Sederland of the New Jersey State Police called to report they had located our stolen vehicle.


12-02-10 15:45 hours – Ptl. M. Mugler – Theft-$200 & over from building

Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – Contractor at the diner reports many of his tools missing from the work site. Also gone were several corner keys and plastic inserts that hold the windows together.  The diner owner is aware that there is an unsecured second floor door, which is how the suspect/s gained entry


12-02-10 14:45 hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – All other vandalism.

100 block E. Plumstead Ave. – Victim reports that unknown person/s did break into her detached garage, behind the residence by backing out the screw that held the lock latch in the garage door.  The doors appeared to coming off of the hinges also, but this appeared to be because they were very old and the high winds blowing all night probably caused more damage to them.  There was nothing reported missing at this time.


12-02-10 20:17 hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza – Robbery-strong-arm-highway

Unit block E. Essex Ave. – Victim stated he was on his way home from band practice and attacked by three males.  The males assaulted him and took his cell phone.  Police checked the area for the actors but they had fled.  The victim was transported to his residence and the police informed his father of the incident. The victim suffered minor injuries from the encounter.


12-02-10 17:00 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle – Weapons –possession-firearm

Scottdale Rd. – Police received a call for a suspicious vehicle.  Located the offender in a SUV on Scottdale road.  This officer asked the offender if he had any weapons in the vehicle and he stated “No”.  through the open door this officer observed two shotgun shells in the center console of the vehicle and a pump shotgun sitting on top of a bag in the back seat of the vehicle The offender was arrested on firearms and related charges.  A bow with eight arrows and a 12 gauge shotgun with thirty rounds of ammo were seized during this incident.


12-03-10 19:09 hours – Ptl. C. Brown – theft- $50 to $200 bicycles

200 block Wabash Ave. – The victim stated that her son secured his bike on the front porch on 12-1-2010 at approximately 1700 hours.  On today’s date he discovered the bike had been removed along with the bike lock from the front porch.  Bike is a brown/white Mongoose BMX, $150.00 value.
