Police activity week of 11-22-10 through 11-28-10
11-22-10 12:42 hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Narcotics-possession-marijuana
Unit block Price Ave. – Police were dispatched for report of two black males smoking marijuana in a green Toyota Camry. This officer made contact with the two black males. This officer approached the passenger side of the vehicle and immediately observed a strong odor of burning marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Both males were taken into custody along with suspected marijuana. Both males will be charged appropriately.
11-23-10 20:08 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Disorderly conduct
100 block N. Lansdowne Ave. – Police received a report of an assault. Actor was last seen standing near a black Chevy Avalanche in the parking lot. This officer located a Chevy Avalanche leaving the parking lot and did stop the vehicle. The actor stated he was in a verbal confrontation at the church where he attends AA meetings. The victim did identify the actor as the person that hit him. A witness stated that the confrontation was just verbal and not physical. A citation was issued to the actor for disorderly conduct.
11-24-10 16:23 hours – Ptl. C. Craig – Theft-$200 & over – all other
100 block W. Essex Ave. – This officer responded for a report of a theft discovered. On location the victim reports that when she arrived home today, she noticed that (2) 5′ pieces of copper downspout were missing from her home. The victim reports she saw the pieces intact this morning before leaving for work at approximately 0700 hours and noticed upon her return home at 1615 hours.
11-24-10 1320 hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – Disorderly connect
100 block Green Ave. (PWHS) – Police responded to PWHS for one student in custody. The Asst. Principal reported that one of the security staff recognized the odor of marijuana emanating from a locker so they searched the locker, located suspected marijuana, and then took the offender into custody.
The substance in question did field test positive for marijuana. A citation will be issued on information received; the offender was picked up at the high school by a parent.
11-24-10 – 15:00 hours – Ptl. C. Craig – Criminal Mischief to automobiles
100 block Drexel Ave. – The vehicle owner responded to police headquarters to report damage that she found on her vehicle. Two scratches on the passenger rear quarter panel.
11-25-10 05:23 hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Disorderly conduct
LPD police headquarters – the offender came to police headquarters to report a domestic situation. Speaking with Sgt. Kienzle the offender reported her boyfriend assaulted her. Sgt. Kienzle did not observe any injuries or marks on the offender. The sergeant advised the offender that she could file a private complaint at district court and sent on her way.
The offender continued to bang on the police station door and this officer went outside to speak with her. The offender knocked over the trash can located outside the station, knocking trash all over the place. The offender was advised to pick up the trash and she started calling me a “Pig”, but did start picking up the trash. The offender then took a Wawa coffee cup, that was on the ground and still contained coffee and threw it at this officer. Sergeant had come out during the incident and observed same. The offender was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct. There was a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the offender and she appeared to be highly intoxicated. The offender was being verbally combative with the police throughout the ordeal. The offender was placed in a call and will be released when she sobers up. Citation will be issued to the offender.
11-26-10 00:50 hours – Sgt. Kienzle – Vandalism
300 block Barker Ave. – On police arrival unknown actor/s had thrown numerous objects at a residence causing damage. It appears that the first object thrown was a coffee mug, which impacted on the aluminum window frame at the front of the house causing a dent in the frame. A second coffee mug was thrown and hit the window frame causing another dent. The actor then picked up a rock which broke through the front window. After breaking through the window, the rock punched a hole in the window shade.
11-26-10 05:18 hours – Sgt. K. Kienzle – Burglary-attempt-residence-night
100 block McKinley Ave. – Police responded to a call for a burglary in progress. The victim stated that a man had tried to enter the front door of her residence and had now gone around back and was trying to force open the back door. Located the defendant while he attempted to force open the rear door of the residence. The offender was taken into custody and will be charged appropriately.
11-27-10 04:02 hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Harassment
Unit block Sayers Ave. – The ambulance was dispatched for an assault victim. On arrival spoke to the victim who stated she wanted a man removed from her apartment because he punched her in the face. The male was located in the living room. There were no signs of injury on ether party at this time. The victim refused transport to the hospital. The male offender was taken into custody and will be charged with harassment and disorderly conduct.
11-28-10 21:52 hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Assault-simple
Unit block W. Plumstead Ave. – The victim called LPD and stated that he was being assaulted. On arrival the victim stated the offender hit him with a closed fist and a cell phone and that she was intoxicated and out of control. The offender did admit to striking the victim. There were several small scratches all over the victim’s face and his sweatshirt was ripped. The offender was taken into custody and will be charged appropriately.
