Police activity week of 12-14-09 through 12-20-09

12-16-09 18:54 Hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Theft-$200 & Over-from auto
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – Victim states that she parked her car in the lot of the Dollar Tree store and went in to shop. Upon her return to her car she noticed the trunk was ajar and discovered other items she had purchased elsewhere were missing. Approximately $500 worth of items reported taken. Victim may have left car unlocked and offender opened trunk from inside vehicle.

12-17-09 14:16 Hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Trespassing of real property
Unit block Florence Ave. – Police received a report of a possible burglary in progress. Located offender who stated the front door to the home was open so he went inside to pick up his belongings. No sign of forced entry to the house. The offender was returned to police headquarters and cited for defiant trespass. The defendant’s grandmother did respond to headquarters to pick up offender.

12-17-09 13:56 Hours – Criminal Mischief to Autos
Ptl. L. Doyle – N. Highland Ave. – The victim’s vehicle was parked in its usual spot on Highland Ave. At 07 00 hours there was not damage to his windshield when he came back at 12:30 hours the windshield was smashed. This officer looked for a rock or anything that could have been used to hit the window, but found nothing.

12-18-09 01:18 Hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan -Driving under the influence
E. Greenwood Ave. – This officer observed a maroon Toyota Camry traveling north on N. Lansdowne Ave. the vehicle had damage on the right front side, the right side mirror was broken off and it’s right turn signal was on but the vehicle didn’t make any turns. This officer followed the vehicle and observed it drift to the right side of the roadway and almost strike the curb several times and it continued to travel and almost struck the Aqua Pa work trucks ware were parked on the right side of the roadway. Eventually this officer was able to pull over the vehicle and located the offender inside the car. The offender was severely intoxicated and was returned to police headquarters. At headquarters the paramedics were notified to evaluate the offender for alcohol poisoning. The paramedics transported the offender to the hospital to be evaluated. The offender will be charged of driving under the influence.

12-18-09 13:36 Hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – Theft-$200 & over-auto accessories
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – Victim was in Dollar Tree and when he came out he discovered his radio/CD player was forcibly removed from the vehicle. The victim states the doors were locked, the only damage noted was to the dash board.

12-18-09 08:40 Hours – Plt. C. Craig – Theft-$50 to $200 from auto
Unit block E. Marshall Rd. – Victim states his wife’s vehicle was ransacked overnight. Missing from vehicle a makeup kit worth $120.00. The victim wasn’t sure if the vehicle was locked.

12-20-09 08:38 Hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – Disorderly conduct
200 block N. Wycombe Ave. – Defendant was involved in a domestic dispute with his girlfriend at her apartment. The defendant was asked to leave the apartment and not return or face arrest for his actions. Over the next twelve hours the police were dispatched four more times to the apartment with the defendant fleeing prior to police arrival. At 0855 hours this officer did located the defendant and took him into custody. The defendant will be charged with Persistent Disorderly Conduct.

12-20-09 13:39 Hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – Assaults-other simple
200 block Glentay Ave. – Responded for domestic assault in progress. Both were arrested for simple assault for attacks on each other.
