Police activity week of 12-07-09 through 12-13-09

12-08-09 04:18 Hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Driving under the influence
100 block S. Wycombe Ave. – While on routine patrol did observe a Dodge pu truck stopped in the right hand lane with the driver’s side door open. When this officer approached the vehicle, which was running with the lights on, found the driver slumped over in the driver seat. There was a strong odor of alcohol emanating from the driver. It took several attempts to wake the operator. The offender was deemed unfit to take the field sobriety test and taken into custody. The offender was also too intoxicated to be processed at the time of arrest and was placed in a holding cell until he sobered up enough to be processed. The offender will be charged with driving under the influence and other charges.

12-08-09 07:05 Hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – Criminal Mischief to automobiles
Unit block S. Lansdowne Ave. – The victim stated that the front passenger side window of his vehicle was broken out. The victim states nothing appears missing from the vehicle. This officer did not observe any foreign objects inside the vehicle that could have possibly caused the damage.

12-08-09 15:34 Hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Disorderly conduct & Harassment
200 block Glentay Ave. – Received report that a silver Kia cut off a driver and was stopped on Glentay Avenue. This officer observed the vehicle and approached to speak with the driver. The driver /offender became hostile and denied any knowledge of the incident. The offender was advised to calm down. The offender will be cited for disorderly conduct & harassment.

12-09-09 02:12 Hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Driving under the influence
S. Dudley & Lansdowne Aves. – This officer observed a black 2002 Chevrolet traveling west on the unit block of E. Baltimore with only parking lights on. The vehicle was observed swerving from the sidewalk into the middle of the roadway. The vehicle was eventually stopped and driver was asked for license, insurance and registration. The offender stated he did not have a license. Found on the driver floor was one glass tube containing foil and a brown residue? The offender was taken into custody. While at headquarters the offender stated he smokes crack cocaine. The offender will be charged appropriately.

12-09-09 18:42 Hours – Ptl. K. Kienzle – Public Drunkenness
100 block W. Marshall Rd. – Police responded to a call for a domestic. On arrival spoke to the wife who stated her husband slapped her. Attempted to refer the wife to the Domestic Abuse Project and she refused any information or assistance. Spoke to the husband; he spoke no English, who was under the influence. The offender/husband refused police direction to return to his home and calm down. The offender was arrested and will be cited for public drunkenness.

12-09-09 15:00 Hours – Ptl. C. Brown – Theft-under $50 -From buildings
Unit block W. Marshall Road (MarWin Market) The witness stated he viewed a white male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt entered the business, picked up a blue shopping basket and began shopping inside the store. The white male then suddenly ran out of the store with an unknown amount of items inside the blue basket.

12-11-09 09:45 Hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – burglary-no force- residence-day
Unit block S. Lansdowne Ave. – Victim stated left his apartment at 0800 hours to take his fiancé to work and upon returning discovered the burglary. The victim is not sure if his apartment door was locked, although he usually does lock the door. Missing from the apartment $1,900.in cash from a safe. The safe was easy to open with a credit card or a knife. Also missing a T-mobile phone. No suspects at this time. All evidence returned to police headquarters.

12-12-09 00:22 Hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Driving under the influence
100 block N. Wycombe Ave. – Police responded for report of an accident. The offender had struck a vehicle in the rear. The offender did fail two field sobriety tests and was taken into custody for driving under the influence. In the vehicle this officer located a glass tube, commonly used to smoke crack cocaine. The offender was processed and will be charged appropriately.
