Police activity week of 11-30-09 through 12-06-09

11-30-09 22:15 Hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – Assault-Knife or Cutting Instrument
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – Police responded to call of domestic assault involving a knife. On arrival officers were met by victim who was bleeding from a cut below his left eye and cuts on his back. The victim states his girlfriend went crazy and threw a kitchen knife at him and it hit him in the face. The offender was taken into custody, processed and will be charged and held at police headquarters for the night.


12-02-09 11:26 Hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Burglary-Attempt-Residence-Day
Unit block Nyack Ave. – Victim states she heard a noise at her front door. She looked out the window and was face to face with the actor. The actor stated “excuse me does….live here. The victim stated she was calling the police and the actor left the area. Police check the area with negative results.


12-20-09 18:18 Hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – theft- Under $50 – Bicycles
Unit block S. Maple Ave. – The victim reports his black mountain bike removed from his property sometime yesterday. After speaking with neighbors and having stopped the offender for another incident before the reported theft. The two offenders will be charged with theft of the property.


12-02-09 13:32 Hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Disorderly Conduct
300 block N. Maple Ave. – Reporting party states there suspicious persons on his property. Located the three male offenders, two wearing hoodies and the third a sweatshirt. Located one subject who was arrested and did have in his possession, in the pocket of his hoodie sweatshirt, a pellet gun which was a replica of a handgun. The victim identified the offender. A second offender was apprehended by Officer Selimis. The third offender fled the scene. The two offenders will be charged with disorderly conduct.


12-03-09 07:45 Hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Disorderly conduct
100 block Green Ave. (PWHS) – The offender was arrested by PWHS Security during a random check of students as they enter the high school. The offender had a small amount of marijuana in a clear sandwich bag. The offender was taken into custody and will be cited for disorderly conduct.


12-03-09 16:35 Hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Theft-Under $50 Auto parts
Unit block E. Stewart Ave. – the victim reports his vehicle’s registration plate was taken from his 1993 GMC van sometime over the last two weeks while he was out of town.


12-04-09 00:08 – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Harassment
Unit block Linden Ave. – Initially dispatched for a burglary in progress. While investigating the burglary, police check on a blue Chevrolet Lumina that was parked in the area. This vehicle had been occupied earlier in the shift with two passengers in the vehicle at that time. At the time of this call only one person was in the vehicle. The victim states the male in the car was a person that she had briefly dated and no longer wanted to have contact. The victim expressed she is afraid of the offender. Fresh pry marks and damage was discovered on the victim’s back door. The offender was arrested for harassment and advised not to return or contact the victim.


12-04-09 01:12 Hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Burglary-Attempt-Residence-Night
Unit block Linden Ave. – Victims reported while on the third floor of his property he could hear activity on the 1st floor, but no one was supposed to be home. On police arrival there was no indication that anyone had gained entry. There was pry marks and fresh damage on the back door. The police have two suspects in this offense. Investigation to continue.


12-04-09 11:27 Hours – Ptl C. Brown – Harassment
100 block Green Ave. (PWHS) – Received to call to respond to Penn Wood High School. On arrival victim states she instructed the offender to put her cell phone away, the offender did not comply and the phone was removed from her by the victim. The offender proceeded to follow the victim around the room yelling and screaming at her and did push the victim’s right arm knocking the victim off balance. The offender was returned to police headquarters, cited and release with transport home.
