Police activity week of 11-16 -09 through 11-22-09
11-16-09 01:42 Hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – theft-$200 & over from auto
100 block W. Albemarle Ave. – the victim looked out his window after hearing two loud sounds and a glass break. He saw a white male running from the area. The victim states his Garmin GPS is missing from the vehicle.
11-16-09 12:11 Hours – Sgt. B. Eidell – Disorderly conduct
100 block Green Ave. (PWHS) – Responded to the high school for a student in custody with a small amount of marijuana. On police arrival the student was in the office. The student had been caught by school security officer inside one of the school bathrooms. The offender was holding a small bag of marijuana and was showing another student. The security officer took the student into custody. The offender was returned to police headquarters cited and released. The offender’s mother was notified by the school.
11-17-09 17:14 Hours – Sgt. B. Eidell – Assaults- other simple
100 block Green Ave. (PWHS) -Police responded to PWHS for report of an assault that had just occurred. Both offenders were being detained by school security. There had been a verbal confrontation which escalated into physical fight. Both offenders were taken into custody and transported to police headquarters. Appropriate charges will be filed.
11-18-09 10:14 Hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Theft-$50 to $200
100 block Owen Ave. – Victim stated that unknown actors entered the shed in her fenced backyard and removed a Craftsman 2.5 horsepower lawnmower. The value is approximately $185.00.
11-19-09 04:20 Hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Disorderly conduct
100 block Berkley Ave. – PEO Karpetis was on duty conducting overnight parking when he observed a white male in a gold Chrysler. The PEO approached the vehicle and asked the offender if he lived there and the offender stated no I live on Derwyn. The offender took off running. Police were dispatched to area and eventually did apprehend the offender and arrested him for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. The offender was released to his mother.
11-19-09 12:43 Hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza – Assaults-simple
200 block N. Wycombe Ave.-The victim states while entering the apartment building he was assaulted by and male unknown to him. The victim received medical treatment for his injuries.
11-20-09 01:05 Hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – DUI
Lansdowne & Albemarle Aves. – Police responded to a report of an accident, while on scene offender was observed to be unsteady on his feet and relayed to officers he had taken sleeping pills. The offender was taken into custody and arrested for driving under the influence.
11-20-09 11:55 Hours – Ptl. C. Craig – Disorderly Conduct
W. Marshall Rd. (Marwin market) – Two arrested for shoplifting at the Marwin Market, taken were 3-Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Both issued citations.
11-20-09 10:40 Hours – Sgt. B. Eidell – Theft-$50 to $200 from auto
S. Lansdowne Ave. – Victim stated his 1992 Dodge Dynasty was parked in the train station parking lot. The victim states removed from the vehicle was a car stereo; he does not know the value. The victim states he did lock the vehicle. No signs of forced entry to the vehicle.
11-21-09 07:45 Hours – Ptl. C. Craig – burglary-no force-residence-night
200 block W. Greenwood Ave. – Victim reports her home burglarized. Missing from the home is $50 in cash, check book, blanket, 2 heating pads, and food. Offender was arrested for this offense while committing another burglary.
11-21-09 05:43 Hours – Ptl. C. Brown – Driving under the influence
N. Lansdowne Ave. – During traffic the offender was observed to be under the influence of alcohol. The offender did fail the field sobriety tests. Drug paraphernalia was also found in the vehicle. Offender was arrested for DUI.
11-21-09 17:24 Hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – Burglary-attempt-residence-night
200 block W. Albemarle Ave. – Police were dispatched to a burglary interrupted. The responding officers were informed by the complainant that he heard a noise in his kitchen and came down stairs and found the suspect in his kitchen. Entry to home was gained through an unlocked window in the kitchen. The suspect fled the scene. Police did apprehend the suspect/offender and she was transported to police headquarters. The offender did admit to burglarizing and attempting to burglarize several homes in Lansdowne Borough. The offender was processed and housed at police headquarter until arraignment before the District Judge. Property recovered was stored in evidence room at headquarters.
11-21-09 17:37 Hours – Ptl. C. Craig — Burglary-attempt-residence-night
200 block W. Plumstead Ave. – The victim states when he arrived home he observed that the basement screen on the driveway side of the home had been cut and the screen found on the front lawn. The home owner reports that the dining room of the home along with the rear kitchen window had been partially open, but no entry was gained. Police already had the offender in custody and she will be charged for this offense as well as others committed.
11-21-09 17:24 Hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – burglary-attempt-residence-night
200 block W. Albemarle – Police responded for burglary attempt report. No entry gained. Offender was already in police custody.
11-22-09 16:32 Hours – Ptl. C. Craig – Disorderly conduct
Unit block N. Maple Ave. – The offender was located on an open front porch on unit block of N. Maple. The offender was visibly intoxicated and had fallen previous to police arrival. Medics were called to check out the offender. The offender did become agitated and was making statements that made no sense. The offender was transported to the hospital for evaluation and will be kept there for at least 12 hours. Officer will receive a citation in the mail for disorderly conduct.
