Police activity week of 10-19-09 through 10-25-09

10-20-09 01L53 Hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza- Theft $200 & Over-From auto
Unit block E. Stratford Ave. – Victim’s vehicle entered and several items missing. The victim believes her vehicle was locked.

10-20-09 16:10 Hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – Disorderly Conduct
N. Wycombe Ave. – Report of fight on an Upper Darby School District bus at Plumstead & Lansdowne Aves. Once at the location was changed to N. Wycombe & LeCarra. The offender was taken into custody for threatening the bus monitor on the school bus. The offender was returned to the police station, cited and permitted to walk home after a conversation with his foster mother.

10-21-09 02:02 Hours – Ptl. C. Brown- Robbery-Strong Arm
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave.(Wawa) – Report of a robbery at the Wawa. On police arrival the victim and contact were in front of the Wawa. The victim stated that an unknown black male stole his phone and punched him in the face. Description of actor involved in the robbery: light skinned with close cropped hair, approximately 6′ to 6’2″ and wearing a red hoody and blue jeans, second unknown black male dark skinned with close cropped hair, approximately 6′ to 6″2 wearing a gray hoody(possibly a sweatshirt . The suspects had a dark colored vehicle, possibly blue Buick LaSabre with a black female in the front passenger seat. The victim was treated by Lansdowne Fire Company for a minor laceration to his right index finger and minor bruising to his face, back and right arm. A statement was taken from the victim. Investigation to continue.

10-22-09 22:58 Hours – Ptl. L. Doyle- Driving under the influence
Marshall & Congress Aves. – After several attempts to stop a vehicle for erratic driving, the vehicle was stopped and the driver was deemed to be manifestly under the influence of alcohol. The defendant was taken into custody and will be charged with driving under the influence.

10-22-09 22:20 Hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Disorderly Conduct
N. Wycombe Ave. – Defendant failed to stop at a posted stop sign. During the stop this officer observed what appeared to be a small amount of marijuana in a clear sandwich baggie in the cup holder in the center console of the vehicle. The defendant was taken into custody and received a citation for disorderly conduct and one citation for the stop sign violation. The vegetable like matter field tested positive for the presence of marijuana.

10-23-09 19:19 Hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – Robbery-Armed-Firearm-Highway
100 block S. Lansdowne Ave. – The victim arrived at Lansdowne police station distraught and crying, she reported that she had just been robbed at gun point on south Lansdowne Ave. The victim indicated the actors were standing in the driveway of 140 S. Lansdowne Ave. came up from behind and stuck a metallic object, she believed to be a gun ,into her back. The actors ordered her to drop everything, she dropped her purse and the actors took it and fled north on Lansdowne. Victims ID as well as her credit cards, cell phone and her apartment keys were in the purse. This officer was able to make contact with the apartment maintenance man who responded and indicated he would arrange to have the locks changed on the apartment. The victims’ purse was found in trash cans behind a property on Fairview Ave.

10-24-09 20:09 Hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Criminal Mischief-All Other
200 block N. Wycombe Ave. – Maintenance man reports that the wired door window on the south side of the building had been broken. It appears that someone punched the window or hit it with an unknown object.
