Police activity week of 10-04-09 through 10-11-09

10-04-09 00:45 Hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Assault-Hands, Fists, Feet
Unit block N. Highland Ave. – Police were dispatched to the area of Lansdowne Fire Company for a report of a domestic. Once out, firefighters reported witnessing a black male assault a white female. The firefighters were able to follow the actor to N. Lansdowne Ave. the defendant was located and arrested for domestic assault.

10-04-09 10:43 Hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Harassment
200 block Berkley Ave. – The victim called police for a continuing problem with his ex-girlfriend. The police were at the residence earlier in the morning and warned the defendant if she came back she would be arrested. The defendant was arrested for harassment.

10-04-09 17:49 Hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – Narcotics-Possession
Unit block Sayers Ave. – Received a report for a suspicious occupied vehicle in the area. This officer did make contact with the driver, who stated he threw a “blunt” (cigar filled with marijuana) out the window. The passenger stated he had “some weed”. Both defendants were returned to police headquarters charged and processed.

10-04-09 19>10 Hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Theft-Attempted-Auto Accessories
100 block Nyack Ave. – Victim stated a person know to him attempted to steal his vehicle registration plate. The actor was identified and arrested.

10-05-09 12:35 Hours – Ptl. C. Brown – Disorderly conduct
Unit block Green Ave. (PWHS) – Report of fight at PWHS with two actors now detained inside the Dean’s office. On police arrival the complainant advised that he viewed the offender’s exchange some words and they begin to fight. They were separated and taken into custody. Both returned to police headquarters cited and released to parents.

10-06-09 09:20 Hours – Ptl. C. Brown – Burglary-Forced Entry- Residence-Day
100 block W. Baltimore Ave. – Victim states that unknown person’s entered their apartment and removed several items of jewelry. Loss estimated at $1,210.00.

10-06-09 15:43 Hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Narcotics-Possession
Unit block w. Plumstead Ave. When on a medical call involving the defendant the police were told the defendant ingested cocaine. This officer found ac clear glassine baggie gilled with a white powdery substance that is suspected to be cocaine; near the bed here the defendant was lying. The suspected cocaine was seized and secured at police headquarters. The defendant will be charged with possession.

10-07-09 14:20 Hours – Ptl. L. Doyle – Theft-$50 to $200-Bicycles
Unit block s. Lansdowne- this officer arrived to find the victim standing outside the entrance of the Lansdowne Library. The victim told this officer he went into the library for 15 minutes and that his bike (which was not locked) was not where he put it when he returned.

10-07-09 14:10 Hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Theft-$200 & Over-From buildings
200 block E. Plumstead Ave. – The victim states his paycheck was stolen from his mailbox. The victim states his paycheck would have been mailed to him either Friday or Saturday. Police are waiting for further information from the victim.

10-08-09 13:28 Hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Disorderly Conduct
100 block Green Ave. (PWHS) – Police responded to the high school for a fight. On arrival made contact with the principal who stated there was a fight and would like the males cited for disorderly conduct. This officer and Sgt. McCaughan view the video tape and observed tow males physically fighting in the hallway. Both males stated they were involved. Police did not take them into custody, Both males were advised that they will receive a citation through the mail for disorderly conduct.

10-09-09 03:33 hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza – Liquor Law Violation
100 block N. Highland Ave. – Received report of attempted bicycle theft. Located the defendant who denied the attempted theft. The defendant was under the age of 21 and had an odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath. The defendant was returned to police headquarters and cited of underage consumption then released.

10-09-09 09:26 Hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Theft-Attempted-From Auto
100 block Madison Rd. – The victim reports that both her vehicles had been rifled through overnight. Both vehicles had been left unlocked. Nothing reported missing from the vehicles.

10-09-09 14:25 hours – Ptl. C. Brown- theft-Under $50 from Auto
Unit block E. Greenwood Ave. – The victim reports his vehicle being rifled through last night. The vehicle had been left unlocked. Missing from the vehicle $42.00 in small change.

10-090-09 13:58 Hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Theft-attempted from auto
Unit block W. Windermere Ter. – The victim’s unlocked vehicle had been rifled. Nothing missing.

10-10-09 15:47 Hours – Ptl. C. Brown – theft under $50 from buildings
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – The victim stated that she placed her pocketbook inside of an unlocked closet located in the basement of the Garden Church. When she returned to check her pocketbook it was missing. The pocketbook was located behind a shelf. The pocketbook had been rifled through and $10.00 was missing from inside a change purse. No other items missing at this time.

10-10-09 15:38 Hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Public Drunkenness
100 block Midway Ave. – Dispatched to meet Upper Darby Police Officer Lutz in reference to a suspicious male. Located the offender sitting on a curb. The defendant was intoxicated and transported to the police station where he was arrested of public drunkenness and house for the night until he sobered up. He will be issued a citation.
