Police activity week of 09-21-09 through 9-27-09

09-21-09 16:38 Hours – Ptl K. McDermott -Theft-Under $50 from buildings
Unit block W. Plumstead Ave. – Complainant’s deceased mother’s Citibank. MasterCard was stolen. The complainant believes it was stolen by an employee of Personal Touch Cleaning service. There was an attempt to use the card.


09-21-09 09:23 Hours – Ptl. L. Doyle – All other Vandalism
100 block E. Essex Ave. – Complainant stated someone had spray painted a red swastika directly behind her house in the alley way. The complainants daughter heard someone painting in the alley way at around 22:00 hours, and saw the suspect walking away. Investigation to continue.


09-21-09 09:23 Hours – Ptl. L. Doyle – All other Vandalism
200 block Wabash Ave. – Complainant stated there was a red swastika painted near his property. This is related to previous incident. Investigation to continue.


09-22-09 02:54 Hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Driving under the Influence
S. Lansdowne & W. Baltimore Aves. – This officer stopped a gray Plymouth Neon which was described vehicle involved in a domestic related incident in Clifton Heights. Once the vehicle was stopped and this officer made contact with the defendant it was determined the defendant was under the influence of alcohol. The defendant was arrested processed and released to his girlfriend.


09-23-09 00:00 Hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza -Theft-$50 to $200 bicycles
Unit block Windermere Ave. – Victim stated his bike was stolen from the front porch. The victim reported that he observed the actor on the porch and asked him what he was doing. The actor stated he wanted to rent an apartment. The victim went back inside his apartment. The victim stated he saw the actor take the bike off the porch and the victim chased the actor and lost sight of him. Bike is a blue Magnum male’s mountain bike. The actor is a black male in late teens/early twenties, having braided hair, thin build, wearing a black baseball cap and black back pack. Checked the area could not locate the actor or the bicycle.


09-24-09 00:34 Hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Public Drunkenness
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – this officer observed the defendant walking around the Wawa store parking lot and Antenucci’s Auto lot in the rain and appeared to be unsteady on his feet and walking in circles. Upon approaching the defendant it was obvious he was manifestly under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance. The defendant was taken into custody. The defendant was held until he was determined to be sober enough to be released.


09-25-09 07:40 Hours – Ptl K. McDermott – All other Vandalism
100 block Ardmore Ave. (Ardmore Avenue School) – On arrival spoke with the head custodian of the school. The complainant stated that on his arrival at work this morning he observed graffiti on the outside wall to the gymnasium, the gym door and a portion of the brick wall located by the playground. There is a suspect in this offense. Investigation to continue


09-25-09 14:32 Hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – Narcotics-Possession
Unit block E. Baltimore Ave. – Offenders were arrested after the police responded to unit block of e. Baltimore Ave. for a domestic fight. On arrival both offenders were physically fighting and accusing one another of using illegal drugs. Several items of drug paraphernalia were found inside the apartment. Both offenders returned to police headquarters for processing.


09-26-09 20:53 Hours – Ptl. K. Kienzle – Robbery-Strong Arm-Residence
Unit block S. Lansdowne Ave. – Victim was a assaulted by an acquaintance who took his cell phone. The offender did have keys to the apartment. Offender described at a dark skinned black male, late teens to early twenties. Approximately 5’10:, 160 lbs. The offender was last seen wearing a red sweat jacket, blue jeans and light blue sneakers.


09-27-09 22:39 Hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Theft-Under $50
Unit block Madison Ave. – Victim states that someone had taken the hanging wind chimes from the front porch.
