Police activity week of 09-14-09 through 09-20-09

09-14-09 11:10 Hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Disorderly Conduct
E. Greenwood & N. Highlands Aves. – The complainant stated while traveling south on N. Highland Ave, behind a school bus she observed the offender throw a plastic milk bottle containing milk at the school bus. The offender threw the bottle at the bus accidentally striking the complainants vehicle. The complainant stopped her vehicle and asked the offender why he threw the bottle at her car. The offender began to curse at the complainant. The offender was apprehended and arrested for disorderly conduct.


09-15-09 00:16 Hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Narcotics-Possession
200 block N. Wycombe Ave. – the defendant was found sleeping on the curb. This officer had to yell at the defendant to wake him up. The defendant was observed to have glassy blood shot eyes. When asked by this officer if he had anything to drink he stated a beer. The defendant was placed under arrest. While conducting a search incident to arrest this officer found on prescription bottle with no label containing orange pills. The drugs were sent to PA State Police for testing. The defendant was processed and house at Lansdowne Headquarters.


09-15-09 15:00 Hours – Ptl. L Albertoli – Theft-Under $50-Retail Theft
Unit block W. Marshall Rd (MarWin Market) – Dispatched to MarWin Market for a shoplifter in custody. The defendant attempted to take candy and a 20 oz bottle of soda from the store. The employees contained the defendant until police arrived. The defendant was arrested, processed, cited and released.


09-15-09 09:16 Hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza – Burglary-Forced Entry-Residence
100 block W. Baltimore Ave. – Police responded to a report of burglary discovered. The victim reports that somebody burglarized his garage where he kept his plumbing supplies, tools and materials. The garage door was forced open and scrap copper was taken.


09-15-09 21:38 Hours – Sgt. McCaughan – Liquor Law Violation
200 block N. Wycombe Ave-Marshall House Apartments – This officer and Off. Doyle was doing a check of the area due to numerous problems of disorderly group there recently. While on site encountered a group of four males who were in possession of open containers of alcoholic beverages. The group were issued citations for under aged drinking and scattering rubbish with the exception of one, who was processed and will be charged on a criminal complaint.


09-17-09 09:38 Hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Criminal Mischief-All Other
Unit block W. LaCrosse Ave. – The victim reports that yesterday when he returned home from work he found that the glass window to his storm door had been broken and the door trim was also broken. No sign of forced entry.


09-18-09 22:40 Hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Public Drunkenness
McKinley and N. Union Aves. – This officer observed a white male falling head first into the grass. The defendant was observed attempting to stand up but kept falling onto the ground. This officer approached the defendant and immediately detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage. The defendant was placed into custody and transported to police headquarters where he was processed and housed.


09-19-09 02:09 Hours – Ptl T. Selimis – Driving Under the Influence
Unit block W. Albemarle Ave. – This officer observed a 1990 Chevrolet Caprice driving erratically and did stop the vehicle. The driver/defendant had a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the driver. The defendant was asked to exit the vehicle, and was observed walking with a staggering gait. The defendant was placed into custody. At police headquarters a clear glassine bag containing a white powdery substance was found in the defendants left pants pocket. The defendant was processed and housed at police headquarters.


09-19-09 04:26 Hours – Ptl. L. Doyle – Drive Under the Influence
Unit block E. Baltimore Ave. – Subject arrested for DUI after being field tested. Passenger in the vehicle also cited for having open container of alcohol.


09-19-09 16:45 Hours – Ptl. K. Kienzle – Criminal Mischief to Auto
200 block Wabash Ave. – Victim reported damage to her 2003 Gold Hyundai Sonata. The vehicle was parked in the driveway of her home. It appears someone carved into the paint with a key.


09-19-09 06:06 Hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – M.V. Theft-attempted
100 block Glentay Ave. – The complainant states that he was on his rear porch when he observed a white male approximately 5’10”, medium stocky build, mid 20’s and wearing a gray sweat shirt walking east on Glentay. The complainant stated heard a vehicle alarm and saw the male running from the neighbor’s driveway and towards the park.


09-20-09 13:36 Hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Burglary-No Force-Residence-Night
200 block N. Wycombe Ave. The victim states that unknown actor/s entered her apartment and removed a Wii system. There was no sign of forced entry. The victim suspects two neighbors. Investigation to continue.


09-20-09 – Ptl D. Schiazza – Theft-$200 & Over- All Other
Unit block Eldon Rd. – The victim reports that three 300 gallon stainless steel boat fuel banks were stolen from the side yard by the driveway of his residence. Total loss $750.00. The victim states there was a witness to the theft and the victim would try to get this witnesses name. Investigation to continue
